petrol cap

   rightwhen i bought my car it had a stainless steel petrol cap which i dont like tbh:
   
   
   
   im not too keen on it and would prefer a nice original posi blue one, however the stailess steel one actually comes off when i undo the cap so if i was to buy a a stadrad one with the hinge how would i fit it?
   
   also i would have the problem of the key for it

   I don't believe they come with a fkap mate, pretty sure they all come off with the key. In ref. to the key you can usually take the lock off the steel one and put it on the normal one

   Does it take the same key as the rest of the car?
   As it looks like a diferent key fiting!
   Stock ones do!

   if it uses a seperate key then the lock will be different to your standard lock.

   yeah they are different, but i want to swap caps with my mates standard vtr one but he has the same key, so i jus want to swap the lock bit

   theres a guide/thread on here somewhere which shows how to remove the lock bit!

    cant actually find one, theres one thats on how to get the key out the lock when its off the car but i want to change the actual lock unit.

    right finally found a thread about it, so sorted the prblem out, i might make a quick n easy guide to this aswell when i do mine

    once you get the key out mate it's very easy. Just force it up from the barrel and it will come off and push the new one on. Had the same problem.
