Right well im lookin to buy my mates turbo kit that he had in his saxo. All it is, is a Renault R5 T5 turbo with a custom manifold that bolts straight on, hes selling an oil cooler too but i would like to change the plumming as he scratched and dented the piping taking it out! 1st question, anyone know a good place to get this?
ok but now onto the serious bit, he reckons that all hes done to the engine before bolting the turbo on was put 2 headgaskets on for the compression and said it ran sweet as a nut. Iv been told that i would need to upgrade to forged pistons with upgraded con rods, what do you guys think? give it a go with 2 headgaskets or even better a steal headgasket for the compression or is this not enough? I would have thought that he may have a point seeing as its only a T5 which is what they put in the 1.4's! Taaa! thnks for lookin!
