40 or 50

I am currently lowered 40mm all round

I want to go down to 50mm lowered but also want to fit upper and lower strut braces on the front

I've heard with 50mm the lower strut braces catches the ground alot!

    What should i go for?

    40mm with strut braces
    50mm with strut braces
    50mm without lower strut brace

    Opinions please

You could leave the front 40 and just do the back 50 , quite a few people have done this

40mm all round with upper an dlower struts

no problem there? even with speed bumps?

Well the fact is if you have a lower strut brace it wont catch over speed humps
that go right across the road.

If its the little ones like these:

then its best to go over with only one wheel (other not on the hump) that way
the strut brace wont catch! Mine has caught a few times with stuff on the
    road and im 40mm front...

them speed bumps look small there, around my way they look bigger,

must be because I don't really look at them from that angle!

got a pic of your car going over them?

    thanks anayway have some rep!

Trust me mate thats not my area, around here they are huge. That was just
an example. I will get a pic one time to show you!

Will get a pic of the car going over it too when it comes back from the bodyshop.

Upper braces imo arent all that buddy, lower brace is the one to have if you
giving it stick round the corners. Just be wary though as it will catch on everything
    you go over head on.

my vts is down 30mm and the lower brace does catch quite a lot of the time.

as a result i can no longer park in my designated residential parking due to the bollards in each space which people can raise and lower

I had GMC 50mm springs, had the torsion bar down roughly the same. Fitted a omp lower brace and mullered it on a drive down a bumpy road - yes it did catch alot on speed bumps also.

Im now on GMCs 40mm springs with the torsion bar and tiny bit higher, the rear jacking points are about 10mm higher than the front ones. The new lower brace does not catch as much but it still does if a spirted drive leads down a bumpy road.

The best bit is that the car handles so much better, admitidly i have spent a fair bit of time and money on my new set up but over all i would never recomend someone to buy 50mm springs if they wanted a car to handle well. 30-40mm max

LOL that same thing happened to me at Coventry Uni! I had to park the car
so that the adjustable bollard sat between the wheel and where the brace
sits at an angle. It just fit, but was perfect. My mates couldn't beleive it
when I showed em. Uber parking that was!

Mate Im glad you said 50mm springs and a lower brace are trouble, thats 100%
put me off changing my springs now! Will stick with 40s.

i started parking in between spaces, i still take up one space but the white line is in the middle of the car.

this didnt go down well with my psycho neighbour who has since kicked off !!!!
