Rocker cover leaking

   is this a common problem?
   
   i have a big oil stain what looks to be coming from the top of the rocker cover
   
   Could it possibly be the oil cap?
   
   is the gasket on the rocker cork or sealer? as all the motor factors i have been too said its sealer not a gasket, not been to the dealers yet

   is it leaking round the seal on the rocker cover? you may need a new one

   i know its common on a 16valve for them to leak, not sure on the 8valve tho...

   I went to the dealers last week for a gasket to fix this very problem (1999 Phase 1 VTS) and they needed the chassis number as some engines have a gasket, some have a liquid seal.
   
   Mines a liquid seal so going to re-do the joint with hylomar, stickoflex or similar

   common issue, mines leakin very slightly from the seal!
   
   i'm guessin u just replace the seal but do u add anything else with it?mate of mine used some sealer glue (cant think of the name for it) as well but is this really needed?
   
   as long as the weather is gd this weekened & gsf has 1 in stock i should be changin mine this weekend!

   ask for new seal from motorworld or halfords and ask what to seal it with they should know.
