Spraying the inside

  1. #1
Right well as all you who stripped out your cars know, citroen did a lazy job on the inside (paint wise). So I want to spray mine black, but I was wondering what would give me a better finish -

    Rattle can
    or
    Hammerite

I know the hammerite would take me a day to do, which is why I would prefer to go down that route. But with the rattle can, I could get a nice even and shiny finish (with some laquer). What do you guys think?

    Cheers

    Vin

I'd use a rattle can, prepare the surface properly. First primer it, sand down with 1200 grit, paint and then lacquer.

You can get a really nice finish if you do it properly and take your time. Hammerite will look gash.

Use hammerite that you spray on..

Tough paint and gives a good finish..

My hammerite brush job is ok, couple of area's need touching up but its proper track tbh..

Look at any real rally or race car, always touched up inside with hammerite, looks mint..:d

The Saxo Kit Cars i saw in Belgium were dogs, the boot floor's were full of dents the paint job inside was originally sprayed but over the years had been touched up with paint and a brush..

Who cares about the looks etc, its a track car..

imo hammerite can look good if you do a few coats and get the brush stroke going in the same direction.

hammerite and a brush for me

Hahaha, it would save a lot of money and time. Did you prepare the surface, or did you just wack the paint on?

Your damn right there. I myself have a battle scar , some nob went into me when he thought I was racing and scratched my bumper. The bastard!!!!!!

Anyways --- I am trying to work out how much surface area a rattle can will cover. I recon I am going to need about 10 matt black cans and about 3 primer cans which I already have.

As for hammerite, a 1 litre can and a brush. Bish bash bosh

With hammerite spray on paint or brush on there is no need for primer etc..

It acts as a primer and top coat in one application..Good stuff..:d

Well I have started to sand down the boot area and this is going to be one long project. I think I have bitten off more than I can chew. How ever, I am going to take my time doing it and make it look as best as I can. Shiny FTW
