Stripping the Sax, Guages, Pods, Allsorts!

  1. #1
    Hi all.

Basically wouldn't mind some pictures of some Stripped out Saxo's.
I've got my Furio being stripped atm, and want to know how far to go.

Other things are things such as, Do i cut bits off the loom (Its going to be a road useable Track Car), and i'll most likely be keeping it for a long time.

The Value has dropped anyway due to being a Cat C, so does it really matter?

Lots to remove, but do i cut bits of loom away or not?

How far do i go with strippage?
What do i do for door handles etc?
What about no Dash? How can i still have heaters (Well needed Luxury!), and still have the controls and dials in place?

    Loads of questions!

    Also, What about Dials?
Can i get other Dials, Like Speedo, Petrol, Temp etc etc, and how do i wire them up?

    Lots to ask!
    Cheers
    David

i payed too much money and spent too much on my car to strip it tbh

dave could come over to mine and see how stripped mine is...

Not a bad idea mate, might have to pop over!
Got mine getting there now, its just i don't know what to do with the dash, could perhaps take dash out and make something with fibreglass to hold certain parts..
    No idea!

Keep dash in, just flock it, get carbon blanking plate for stereo, get a switch for your fuel pump, a starter switch, etc in the plate

    slagged

Yeah thats a fair call, You've put lots of effort into making it a fine example too.
Some people don't like it, but tbh, mine's a W reg, its been written off, and cost me 230quid in its current state - I can Sell bits, add bits, do as i will really, and its never going to be a silly expensive car.. unless a turbo falls on later on.. but i doubt it! lol...

Whats with a switch for the pump? and Starter switch?
Could i do away with the ignition? lol...
    That'd be quality really!

Not sure if it will work but you could cut the dash in half and just keep the part which goes around the streering wheel and get rid of all passenger side and center console parts .

Not sure that'd work tbh mate.
Could fibreglass something for some custom guages, and whip the switches from the centre console and Fibreglass something custom for them though...

Yeah, the fuel pump is electronic, simply put a switch between the positive wire of it... Fit a starter switch, And an ignition switch in the same way, just make the circuit...

But wonder why it won't start occasionally because fuel pump is switched off

you gota have a stereo tbh....

and lyndon isnt your seat in the wrong place lol ahha
  14. #14
Lmao @ the seat on the wrong side

Yeah, Is there a point to the pump being switched off, does it make a difference?

Nah Probably won't have a stereo frankie, if perhaps i decide that i'm going to use it on the road i could soon make something up to fit a stereo eventually!

You could make something to fit the stereo in the glovebox if you're dedicated, then have the switch panel in the centre, keeps it looking slagged

Not a point to the switch really, safety aspects in competitions i suppose, but I'm doing it for looks

Lol, seat is there as drivers side has a leak

i wouldn't strip mine love all the luxury's could possible get some flocked dash and speaker vents on the doors, depends how stripped you want it really.
  17. #17
Fair play on the switch, till you have a mate who switches it off *for a laugh* lmao..

Ah, good old saxo leaks.. Mine never had that in fairness! lol lucky me!

Yeah Stereo in the Glove box isn't a bad idea, though i don't want much of a dash if i can help it, though modding the dash is something that can be done at any time, so long as i spray behind it if i colour change...

Could take the dash out and strap stuff to the bulkhead etc. TIE WRAPS GALORE etc

door cards - take em out and replace with poverty spec 106 door card inserts. and chuck in some grab handle from B&Q or somet
