piper probably better but raceland are cheap and just as effective

53 plate VTS? Shiz! Lucky man.

From what I hear, the Supersprint effort fits slightly better and has an overal better finish to it. I also read on here that it's made from slightly thicker metal and reaps a marginal amount more power.

However, a lot of people swear by the Raceland efforts and have achieved good gains from them. If money isn't a problem, go for the Supersprint, else just go for the Raceland as it seems basicaly as good.

money isnt a problem well for the manifolds any way my mates got a piper on his vtr and it looks mint never seen or heard from a race land..
just at the mo ive got a piper 3.5 inch out wardly rolled and a supersprint centre section and it just seems to be lagging power so i thought it could be the standard manifold holding back would i feal any gain with a new manifold ?

oh and cheers i bought the car near enough new too lol

I see. Well people rant and rave about these engines responding well to breathing mods, so I'd assume every little helps. Usual suspects for freeing up the engine are:

    Enclosed IK
    De-cat/Straight through
    Manifold

If it's still no good then, chuck it in the skip lol.

lol i would too lol well coming soon will be cams and a remap so getting the manifold this month and cams next so they should help lol

get a progress thread up and running!

I'd go for piper, if money wasn't an issue !! But the racelands are good for the money !!

piper i would say to go for mate

cheers for the advise people think ill head for the piper..
beeen looking on egay at the exhaust wrap anyone know how many rolls i would need to do all the manifold ?

i would create a progress thread but dont think ive got enough pics lol

i think I comfortably used 50ft 2cm wide - and had some left over.

GMC manifold are some of the best out there you can get off the shelf
  13. #13
how much u talking for a gmc mani and where could i get one of these from
  14. #14
It also depends on what power you want as to whether you get a 4 - 1 or a 4 2 1 mani. Supersprint and raceland are 4 2 1 and piper are 4 - 1.

    http://www.gmcmotorsport.co.uk/

They only sell 4-1 as opposed to 4-2-1 but there website has loads of details on each part and they clearly know a hell of a lot about engines!
  16. #16
Agian depends on where you are wanting the power? For the VTS cos they are so revvy a 4-1 would work well as long as you dont lose too much low range power!
  17. #17
Unless I was building a peaky race car I'd go with a decent 4-2-1
  18. #18
im not too fussy on top end but would love for it too be alot nippier in 3rd gear at 30 say lol so best is a 4-2-1 for that then ?
  19. #19
4-2-1 for low down grunt and 4-1 for race spec only really, a 4-1 isnt really going to help at all unless you are running a nice cam and track it alot!

would i be able to tell the diffrence from the standard mani fold with any of the manifolds? or will it just help along with the other mods such as cams ect.?
  21. #21
It will work better along side other mod's but there wont be a cat in it so less restrictive!
  22. #22
my vts doesnt have a cat on it any way and plus my cat isnt in the manifold lol, are the gmc as good as the piper ?

Its hard to say which one is better as they are different manifolds i.e 4-1, 4-2-1! Would be good to see a dyno with both mani's!

    paying for the name

for the price of a raceland one you cant really argue, it will give you just the same power gain
