sports cat

Just bought a full exhaust system with a 'sports cat' rather than a de-cat as i cant be arsed with swapping it over MOT time...

fitting it tomorrow, just wondering if ive done the right thing now, i was looking forward to it popping with a de-cat and a few extra horses being unleashed...

so anyway, anyone else use a 'sports cat' and what are their view on gains/sound...

its a full stainless consisting of a 'sports cat', silencer and back box.

    thanks!

No but thinking i should have, Mot time on febuary i have to get my old cat from the garage or buy one. Swap them over and then swap them back over if i was my 4-2-1 back on after Mot . Good luck with it Although i think the sports cat do restirct a little but save you hassel.

Same question I'm facing, I was thinking decat at first but then a) bummer every MOT time and b) actually got a stab of green-conscience lol, plus always that little bit safer if you get pulled etc, hence I'll be going for a sportscat when i do my zorst, the garage will do the two (zorst and cat) at discount so all good. A free-flowing sports cat should aid power over a normal one although not quite the same level as a de-cat.

I've gone for one of these:

I know I will still have to change it over come MOT time, but that'll only take like 30mins, and have to do it once a year, so I can live with that!!

The reason for going for this is it has a box, so any copper having a look may think it's a cat, so no problems there, and also it copies the design of a BTB, where it has a dummy cat - so should be good for hp !!!

    Same mate.

I think any sort of breather modding will have to include a sports cat! Thats not for a while though

im noty 100% convinced that it'l be as good on emissions as the standerd, but thats probably just me..

i'll keep the old one just incase though.

was hoping for a garage to stick the lot on, but it seems no one wants to touch it... going to have a go tomorrow! bosh it!
