Rear door stuck close

  1. #1
The rear drivers side door on my 2000 1.1SX is closed but I cannot open it!!

I only just bought it and it worked fine before yesterday but is now stuck fast. I tried pulling and pushing the locking button many times in case it was stuck but it made no difference. Any suggestions as to what to do? How do I access the inards without damaging anything if the door is shut?

    Please help!!!!!

Thanks, I tried loads of times pulling and pushing the button (ooh errr misses) so I think my only solution is to remove the door trim. Is it in 2 pieces (top & bottom)? I hope so as I cannot get to the bottom of the door with it being closed!

Should be two torx screws (havent had any experience with a 5 door) one will be in the little ash tray/handle thing the second is unknown.

Once that is off you'll see a soft material coverring the door (this is the sound proofing) If you cut into this you can access your door pins take a look at this guide have a look for more screws to access the locking mechanism if it's still b*ggered, other than that you might be best getting a Haynes Manual and searching it up in there.

hi im new to this site and i had the same problem on my 2000 saxo, and i discovered its nothing to do with the locks . it is the lever on the back of the handles over time the lever ceases with dirt not allowing the catch to release. remedy remove door panel release the trip lever this will open door, undo catch bolts to allow movement of lock, from outside drill out rivets underside of handle remove handle then well oil &grease handle lever. i have fixed three doors this way.

Hi, Did you have any joy with your Saxo rear door locks. I know it's a long time ago but it's still there on the forum. It's recently happened to my car on one side, (the other is hit and miss). I've managed to get the panel off of the inside but then what? How the hell do you get at the lock when you can hardly get your hand in?
Any help would be appreciated cheers

If you have a smart phone, try setting it to record video with the light on and just stick the camera end in so you can see better, helped me when fixing a different problem inside a door
