when you take out your sunroof, the bit that bolts to the roof skin can be used as a template - take it to a sheet metal place and they will cut you a piece the right size. The best bit is that they can put the holes in the right places so you dont have to drill new ones smile.gif

doesn't sound to hard to do.

i think you just answered the question yourself mate lol. if they will cut it to size and put all the holes in the right places then should be really easy as they done all the hard work you just gotta fit it lol.

    tbh, that looks abit gash!!

i'm planning on making an exact copy of the sunroof in perspex (a touch bigger so its a real tight fit), then some stepped tags will be needed to hold the panel tightly down on the silicon bead, but also to stop the roof being sucked out due to pressure difference from the inside to outside of the car, as if it's on just a silicon bead the pressure force could pullit out.

i say weld a plate in and smooth the entire lot

or you could jsut do what alot of people have done and buy a non sunroof model roof skin and have it fitted and sprayed then there is no sunroof

yes true, but that = lots of money, my method is 100% cost free for me, and of minimal cost to most.

cost of perspex, a few bolts and nuts and some little metal strap like things.

once my head liner is out and i have it ready to fit i will get some pics up, but at the moment things are on hold as dash and cage are being sorted first.

Duno... i don't think it looks to bad really.

    plus. its a go'er not a shower

Not sure just need to stop it from leaking somehow lol!

perspex = lighter than a big ally sheet rivoted to the roof

dynofiend used silicon and perspex to fill his sunroof.

had no problems with pressure jeeves, just make sure its a good sealant.

The previous owner of my Saxo took the sunroof off, welded a metal sheet on and painted it matt black

It looks very nice and unique
