CITROEN SAXO 2001 VTR ENGINE AN LOOM

    1.6 8V SHOWING ONLY 41K

    IN PERFECT RUNNING ORDER

THIS IS THE SILVER ROCKER COVER MODEL

    100BHP

PICK UP ONLY FROM CASTLEFORD WEST YORKSHIRE

    WF10

There seems to be no gearbox, manifold, air filter etc... But then again I have my 4-2-1 manifold to go straight on, my refurbed 1.1 box and my induction kit.

For £150 for a 41k engine it can't be bad? as long as it's genuine I suppose.

    What do you think?

Reckon its a bargain in your situation bud.
Nice chatting to you at Brands.

Yeah likewise, I'm thinking it's an amazing price for the mileage if it's genuine. I've asked him if he has paperwork to back it up etc

Scott will they do you a deal on the loom ecu and other ancils if you get them all together , I would pressume that the price is just for the bare engine alone bud .

Waiting for a reply, but it's 2001 model so I imagine that it's a 3 plug as it came out of a Mk2.

If it isn't 3 plug I'll have to find another as I can't be bothered bodging wiring
  10. #10
Cool and yes dont bodge any wiring! keep it plug and play lol.

Col / Scott it should be a three plug as the throttle body is the black plastic one rather than the earlier Alloy (triangular) 90 hp one . Check though as they may use "libary" or old pictures for their adverts

It may be a lot trickier to fit that you imagine. First off it will only plug directly in to a late model VTR. No other Saxo even 3 plug. You will never get it started unless you have all the transponder gear and key. Or unless you get a unlocked ECU. It also looks to be missing many parts. £150 is about the going rate for a basic 8V block. So as long as you understand what your getting its fine as long as its all good.

what do you mean? the late saxos are 3 plugs. if its already a 3 plug then it should plug straight in.
  14. #14
Yeah that's what I was thinking :/ Should be able to unlock the ecu without much difficulty.
  15. #15
you'll need to send it away or get the key and immobilisor from the donor car. you dont need transponder or pick up ring. just the immobiliser itself and the key.

Not all the 3 plug cars are exactly the same. In the same way not all single plug cars are the same even if its the same plug. What I’m saying that unless that engine is from the exact same model and variant or Saxo there is a possibility there is a slight difference.

If its the real deal mate then go for it. You know you wana.
Couldnt hear a word at the lights today mate but your exhaust seemed to be
    doing all the talking
Nice catching up again. Was a good day at Brands. Rushy.

Black tops are better for cam'ing etc

But not likely to find a ,low milage, so get a black top and rebuild it, if you have the money / can be arsed that is mate

    Just my 5p's worth,

    Josh

make sure you check the engine over mate before parting with your cash, as long as it hasnt been ragged out of the car then if should be ok. make sure that the manifold bolts havn't been snapped off in the block as you'll be looking at over £100 for them taking out. WF10 is about 2 mins from mine

i wouldnt buy it, you get what you pay for.

I have a 2001 3 plug ecu engine, gearbox, loom, and unlocked ecu. 55k with all bits i.e alternator, starter etc... I also have a full dash loom if required.

If i cant fit it to my quicksilver i would sell it.

Id like 300 for the lot if thats any good for you?
  23. #23
£300??? mate, id be starting the price at £500 and going up

Sorry i forgot a quite important factor! lol its a 1600 8v VTR engine not VTS.
