Which exahust on a mk2 1.1 ?

   I was going to get an exahust fitted today but decided not to as it was too much money. I thinking of ordering one off the net but was wondering how hard it is to fit an exahust yourself ? I was also wondering what would be the best brand of exhaust to buy.

   very easy to do, just get the car jacked up and have a look underneath. the downpipe at the front just bolts to the manifold, some have a rubber mount in the middle half way along the system and the rear box is mounted on two rubber mounts. The exhaust comes in three parts, fit the front downpipe, then the centre section then the rear box. You fit each section together using an exhaust paste, a bit like toothpaste to stop it leaking at the joint. The job is very simple and will save you a fortune.    Have been looking at sportex full systems. Are they any good and easy to fit ?

   I thought you were looking for a standard system, these are not performance systems just bog standard replacements. My suggestion is to keep a standard system, you only need to look at dozens of posts on here with engine problems caused by performance parts etc,my view is keep it simple to keep on the road, bit boring I know but you can't enjoy a car that's off the road

   just keep the standard one on mate
   
   too many chavs make their 1.1's sound like a 1000 inch subwoofer

    stick to standard or get a sportex.
