how much does a vts engine weigh/engine stand

Need to know how much does a vts engine weighs complete except gearbox clutch and flywheel.

I want to buy a stand for it.

Has anyone here had there engine on a stand, what one did you use?

Take it either of these should fit as they are universal just bolt it where the gearbox bolts on?

At a guess i'd say the first one should be enough. (but thats just a guess)

Dude, where the hell are you in Maidstone????

I've got a vts engine on the stand that'll take 340kg, and there's no problems at all, seems to do it easily!!

Me and my brother can easily lift the vts engine (excluding gearbox) so shouldn't be anywhere near 340kg!! Might want some high tensile bolts to hold it on though, just incase!!

Ah you're part of the Lenham crew

That's why i've never seen you around M/stone.

Well going on the fact that me and my bro can lift the engine (minus gearbox) I reckon 230kg would be fine.

What's the price difference between the 230kg one and the 340kg one? Cos if it's only like £10, may as well get the 340kg one just to be on the safe side.

One point to remember is that the engine will be as secure as the bolts you use to hold it on !!! !!!

lol, we'r not huge ! lol, I would estimate the engine to weigh around 120 - 140kg.

I reckon the 230kg would be fine - just get some high tensile bolts to hold it on, and have the bolts using all the thread on the gearbox bolt holes, and you should be fine !! At first I was nervous leaving it, but had itn on there for around 2 months and been fine !!!

Having it on the engine stand makes it so easy to clean up and paint. Good luck with it !!

Just cos ur hench soulless lol.

    Was me on my own

we use them at work on van engines but there a lot bigger and bolt on to where the engine mount does. Think ill go buy one then see how it goes.
