If i put this on my vtr how much extra bhp do i get??
K&N induction kit
-
#1
-
#2-1 - +1
-
#4also, this is in the wrong section
-
#6maybe 1bhp or no bhp gain.
-
#7most induction kits actually lose performance mate!!
however i wouldnt buy this if you want a performance mod mainly just a grunty sound is all you will achieve -
#8Depends if its warm or cold outside lol....
Keep the standard airbox and get a panel filter
-
#9this is the forum with most people so i get quicker replies!!! so whats the gain with a K&N then?????
-
#11panel filter or cone?
prob abt 2-3bhp at most tbh -
#13never understood why people wanted induction kits to make their car sound fast like an evo or scooby it makes me laugh
-
#1499% of people get air filters for the noise

If you want performance you gotta spend some serious cash -
#15fack it then im gonna keep it as standard as poss then!!!
-
#17Funk all. You will lose about 3 bhp.
-
#18Stick a VTS lump in the VTR
that will be enough
-
#20bugger all.

#21Just get a Green Panel Filter. It doesn't make any sound difference, but It will deffo make a small improvement. Note, the small improvment
Its only like £35 though.
If you MUST buy an induction kit, get an enclosed one, or a scoop forced induction one. Those make sure you dont suck hot air in, which reduces BHP. Then the same again applies though, 5bhp at max, and they cost like £150 or less.
Not sure on the green panel filters, but some say 5hp more isnt impossible. I think there's one lad on here that got 107.X hp, after only adding a new filter. Not to say he got an extra 7 hp, but somewhere around 3-5 maybe? Im sure someone will correct me
-
#22its not gonna be much mate, if u get any at all
it'll only be about +2 at most -
#23the only reason you'd see a change is that you're putting on a fresh clean air filter and replacing a crap out unclean one.
highly unlikely you'll get any benefits -

(Huge probs with my sax atm, so may not be modding at all for at least 2 weeks... May be even selling) -

Panel filters are a good choice, the standard airbox is designed for the engine itself and has a specific tract length which affects torque profiles etc. I have seen cars with a bmc in particular loose torque and hp. Although not really with scoop types such as the simota. The standard airbox can also deal with inlet pulses whereas an aftermarket one cant.
