55mm or not?

  1. #1
Ever since having my car lowered back in june '06 i was never convinced that my car was down 55mm, infact to me it looks like 35mm.

The car is using a full G-max suspension kit and was bought from a shop on ebay who was selling both the 35mm & 55mm kits and still to this day im convinced that i was sent the 35mm kit, even though the box did say 55mm kit.

Every time i see someone on here showing pictures of their car being lowered 60mm (which isnt far off 55mm) it always looks quite distinctivly lower than my car.

Basically to cut a long story short im debating whether to buy some 60mm spax springs but want to know from the picture is my car 55mm and will the spax springs make it sit a lot noticably lower on the front?

Thank you (rep available for every informative answer)

it may look lower with spax on, i would get eibach sportline springs from kam racing

deffo looks 55 at the back. The front though. You might be right. from what I usually see, is that the back always looks higher than the front, on the same mm lowering.

Id say go for the 60mm ones, and sell the other on ebay and try and make your dollar back.

Wait for some more responses though.

Hmm, looking at these and comparing to yours, it looks like your back Is lower than this by more than 5mm ...

Maybe the front springs are correct, but your torsion bar has been lowered too much ?

    Who did it?

I have had the back lowered 3 times now.

When the car was orgionally lowered i put pictures up on here and everyone said the rear looked way to high for 60mm so i sent it back and got it lowered to 60/70mm for free, when that was done the front looked really out of place.
The 3rd time it was lowered was due to removing the spare tyre causeing the rear to raise back up, so had to have it put back down.

mine is down 60mm and the back looks about that high but my front is a tad lower, rememebr the wheels are only 14's so may seem slighly higher than say 16's.

Thing is saxoboy07 is sitting on 15" VTS alloys so therefore wouldn't the car sit a little higher, but as im still on VTR wheels my car should be lower....shouldn't it?
