206 1.6 16v??

  1. #1
are the 1600 16v engines in these, the same idea as a saxo vts/106 gti???

if so, i take it most of the parts ie. throttle body would interchange etc??

they are slightly different internally.. certainly its a good base to start robbing parts off.

Aren't the 206 GTIs around 135 BHP? Didn't realise they were just 1600cc like the 106 / VTS... They must have some noteable differences for the extra power, no?

IIRC the 206 xsi 1.6 16v is the same as the C2 1.6 16 valve!

And the shape of the combustion chamber means the squish is pretty poor if just put on a Saxo short block.

Better off using the whole engine, Saxo manifolds, cams and ECU. though using the Saxo cams is a bit of a bodge.

Its from the Xsi not the Gti which uses the EU engines I think

The valves are bigger though but they make less power than the 106 Gti engine as standard. Probably to make more of difference between it and the Gti

you cant use the 206 throttlebody on a saxo. it uses a fly-by-wire throttle body.
