Add pipercross induction kit 1.1 :|

  1. #1
Is it worth adding a pipercross induction kit, about 2 months old to my 1.1 saxo

I am told it will definately make a different noise
will it POSSIBLY make a small difference in speed and how much (most important)

It wont make a stupidly loud noise will it? or like a nice brrrr noise? I dont want to drive along a street and get laughed at because they think i'm a boy racer wannabe

I am going to have this car for maybe 1-->2years so all investments look good

If your after the foam filter then it will make a bit of a grumble when you floor it. It sounds quite nice tbh!
With regards to performance... No! Lol

Indded first years was 1700 and done a few quotes recently as i have turned 18 saying IF I HAD 1 years no claims (which i should) and i'm 18 (which i am and WILL BE) what will my insurance be on my current car

ATM i'm getting prices 1100, its fair considering 1700 but i was hoping to get 900 or so, hopefully i will get it down by phoing around though

i got insured on a 1.4 clio for 1400 when i was 17 on my own, just 19 and i pay under a grand full comp with a years no claims on my sax.

end of the day, insurance is one big con.

and the filter will probly just make a good noise, wont see much gain in 1.1

will i even notice a gain at all though? also noise? can anyone be descriptive, i know its hard but i so really badly dont want to look like a cock when driving being young is bad enough

    so anything more?

most aftermarket performance filters (well the good ones anyhow) are made from Cotton.

Shouldn't make it too loud as a 1.1 doesn't really suck in much air. Might rev slightly freer but don't expect VTS performance.

hehe, what my cars 60bhp or something? vts is like 120? haha, course not
Eveen 5/10 bhp would be AMAZING ROFL

I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BHP btw

just incase you didnt know, you MUST tell your insurance company that you have/will put on the induction kit as it is classed as an engine mod. Be warned that your insurance will probably increase.

You'll be lucky to get a 2bhp gain from it tbh mate. And from what i remember the pipercross ones sit right at the top of the engine bay so they won't be the best for heat soak (where they suck in hot air from the engine, which basically isn't what you want).

My mate had one on his 1.2 clio and it did make it sound nice, though.

Tbh making your car sound & look nice is your best bet with a 1.1. Going for performance isn't going to get you anywhere unless you want to spend a large amount, in which case you will have just been (miles) better off getting a 1.4 / 1.6 etc...

lol you'll be lucky to make any bhp increase at all
will give it a much deeper sound when you floor it but apart from that should sound normal

i had a green cotton on my old 1.1, sounded brilliant.

Did rev freely, but i cant say that there was any performance increase, at all.
