   can anyone help?
   i have a 1998 vtr which has a coil pack instead of leads. my car has just started to suffer from a slight missfire every now and then, a little bit on tick over (does not cut out) and mainly on accelerating. could this be the coil pack? it has new plugs on and the engine managment light does not come on.
   are the coil packs expensive?
   can you get them anywhere, or are they a dealer only part?

   could be the coil pack , as my old 106 gti, had the same problem, and it had a very small hair line crack in it, There not a dealer only part and you should get 1 from euro car parts no problem

   i had a similar problem on my mk2 vtr. they replaced the alternator and problem was solved.

   I had the same promblem, a tiny crack in it, £200 odd for a new one, thats how much i was

   what 4 a coil pack? im sure scott said there only £90 from citroen!

    yeah they are about £90 as there is another post bout em in the problems & queries forum! u sure ur nt thinking of the inlet manifold?

    no idea how much a coil pack is for a vts, it could be feasible that it was that much

    yes the origional one was for a vtr and as i say i paid 90 quid from citreon, lcsax however has a vts

    ahh, didnt know that! an yeah it wouldnt suprise me at citroen, i need a fuel return line to be put into my car and they were going to charge me £80 just for the pipes n connecters!

    cheers mate,
    mite just bite the bullet and get one from citreon, or euro car parts.
    could do with out this spending money on my car lark. just got a house and most of money goes into that! no beer money this week i guess!
