Help needed from suspension gods...

    HELP!

right.. im looking to sort my suspension out.. the pi shocks and springs (dont shout at me) aint good enough anymore.

    so im currently looking at..

    larger rear arb.. 25mm

bilstein grp n front and rear shocks (are these shocks ok for the std torsion bars? or would it best [going for ultimate handling] to get some 22/23mm torsion bars?)

h&r -30mm springs (will these be ok with the grp n fronts? or would some stiffer faulkners be better? if so, how do i go about giving them the correct info?)

please help me! i have money to spend... and just confused by the choices. lol

the groupNs with groupN rear irc are to hard for std bars, so you will be overdamped.

ok.. so 22mm torsion bars? anyone know what lb the different bars are??

how does it behave at the moment?

and how to you want it to behave?

its too soft and too low. -60 front and -80 rear.. want it stiffer.. going to be trackdaying it next year

If you go for bigger bars, then you will be ok to use grpn rear shocks (proper ones, in the gmc package they are normal sports/sprints), but if you do that, then H&Rs will be too soft. On std t/bars, H&R springs are ideal.

Thicker t/bars will want 180lbs or more front springs, prefferably linear rate.

The gmc 40mm grp n package is meant to be good with a 25mm arb, but you can get much better if you go custom.

if you go for the billies from gmc, you get the front group n and rear sprintline (i think thats what they are called) and they are fine for the standard torsion bar.

i looked into getting the rear group n, but was warned that it wouldnt do any good as Ryan has mentioned.

Ive decided not to upgrade my torsion bar, if i was you i would go for the kit ive got, and some decent springs and see how that feels before deciding on a bigger torsion bar.

I cant really comment on springs, i have the falkners and im more than happy with them, but havent used any others so i wouldnt like to comment, if you want to go with falkners then id suggest going on to ssc, i know there is a list on there of what everyone has i.e. length and weight. im sure they will be happy to help, for the record my springs are 250 and 180lbs and i think that they are spot on. no problems whatsoever. falkners were a very good company to deal with, good turn around time and i think great value for money for what you get, will cost around 110 for the springs

you may want to look into also upgrading the bushes, engine mount and front arb mount, ive got the powerflex ones and i think that they are very good, not to harsh for every day use and certainly make the car feel more responsive when driving, i know that ryan is hardcore and has metal bushes and mounts (i think anyway) but thats for a track toy, not an every day car.

oh and Ryan, got a lad on board with a vtr which is quicker off the mark than a vts, i tried to lock ban and delete him but it doesnt work in the real world
