Rear quarter panel

wasn't sure which forum to put this in, but it's kind of styling advice i'm after.

Anyway, if you saw my thread in the newbie forum, you will know that someone reversed into me and drove off

I got a rough estimate of about 500 quid from a local body shop to fit a new rear quarter panel, but then there's painting etc. + labour. Although at the time he said it would probs be a write off if i went through insurance (TPFT anyway)

I found this on ebay, it isn't for a vtr so is no good to me,

but if i could get the part i need off ebay (or someone here??), my dad's mate does body work on cars, styling, painting etc.
do you think i should see if i can get the part and get him to sort fitting it, or just let the repair shop do it?

I've pulled apart my old saxo but left the rear wings on, (due to me personally not knowing where the bolts are to remove it) However this shall be in the haynes manual and I suggest you purchase one if you wish to fit it yourself. And i do suggest that you do it alone If your dad's mate can spray it the right colour for you then you're very lucky. But do one thing have a look at the size of the panel at where it begins and where it ends... quite large isn't it

So if you've got the time do it yourself. otherwise pay for it, its worth doing it alone. If not buy the panel and get it sprayed, It'll cost much less to fit then anyway

Try a search on here. One of the track lads had it done. Best bet would be to buy a new shell
