ive got a mk2 VTR and the engine management light shows for as long as i can remember. when the car has anything less than a quarter tank of petrol, i get a power loss for a second. whenever i have a half or full tank it drives fine. i bought it with 70k and mint condition for only £1250 but with this engine prob. duno wot it cud be. ive put it on a diagnostics and all the codes are clear. anyone have any ideas? maybe an ecu prob?

#3sounds like it is something to do with the fueling system if it drives fine when there is a full tank. it could be something as simple as the fuel filter. you could try changing that first for the sake of a few quid. i did mine about 6 months ago, was a dead easy job!
