what size are standard 1.1 wheels? also will 15" alloys fit on a 1.1 with standard suspension and will they look good or shite???
  2. #2
    standard are 13"
15's on standard height will look fine to me mate. At the end of the day , its your car mate. You decide whether it will look good or not

hey iv just fitted 15's on my 1.1 and it looks well good!!the standerd suspension is a little high but it still looks good!over all yes you can fit 15's on and yes they look good!!

    LOWER IT
  5. #5
yeah you fit 15's but u have a shat load of arch room under the front.. doesnt look as bad at the rear buy some Springs 40mm drop.. any lower you will need a full kit
  6. #6
guys, can you lower a 1.1 on 15" for 40 mm without any arch modifications?
  7. #7
Ive seen 15's rubbing on 1.1's unlowered. With one person in the back mind. Id say 40mm would need arch work really.
  8. #8
i had it lowered b4 but no one would insure me so i had 2 have it raised again!!
  9. #9
Thats a bit stupid! Considering that lowering the car makes it handle better therefore makes it more secure on the road!!! (forget the more secure makes you go faster for a sec ok guys )
  10. #10
and what about on 14" lowered 40?
or should i go for less lowering on 15"?
  11. #11
less lowering on 15's will look better.
  12. #12
hey iv got 15s on my 1.1, only put them on on sat and i was drivin to the pub before with 2 of my mates in the car(1st time since i have had the 15s fitted) and they where rubbing! does anyone know how to sort this out?

    cheers
  13. #13
try and find out where its rubbing and pull the bits out ! hack em of with an angle grinder if need be.
  14. #14
it is rubbing on the outside wheel arch which wil have to be cut/rolled and depending on if you have the right offset or spacer on the wheels it may also be rubbing on the inside of the rear arches.

I had to have my 1.1 arches roled but probably better off doing what most people have done and just cut the buggers off.
  15. #15
its the outside!is it dear getting them rolled? and are they hard to cut off?
  16. #16
wen i had my 1.1 lowered 35mm with 15's it rubbed on even small bumps in the road with my sub in the boot, or no sub and sum1 in the front. its about 35 quid an arch to get them rolled, u shud only need the back doin tho. i just got my mate 2 cut them bak wif a grinder, thats alright if they do a smooth job.

any of these problems on 14" with same lowering?
  18. #18
or can you maybe sort it with alloys with lesser offset?
  19. #19
not 2 sure mate u wil have less problem, obviosly u mite get away with it, c if u can borrow sum off sum1 n try them on
  20. #20
    ok, will try.
    thanx
