What sound you after? Raspy or deep?

For a deep noise you wanna go ashley system, for a raspy note you wanna go with a supersprint system.

Imo raspy is better. Im fed of my ashley, its too deep and sounds like a wet fart!

dont change the system if u take it to the right place u can get baffles fitted or reemoved, some places will tune the sond as you want mate...
  4. #4
yea rather be raspy love the poppin noise that some systems have lol, do they do dual exhaust pipes in the supersprint.

wel thats what i was hoping was going to be done and it lasted like 2 days my exhaust sounds crap from the moment the car is started and is really deep when put my foot down to change through gears thats it really. tbh dont really like it and would like a change.

Is this possible even with a branded system? Such as my ashley?
  8. #8
didnt think that was possibly to tune the sound anyway lol, what system set up should i go for any ideas guys n gals.

Has to be a full supersprint system mate!
Get the "race only" centre section and the back box! Very loud, very popply lol and very raspy! With good performance gains!
  10. #10
what bout manifold mate, hope can get it in dual pipes lol.
  11. #11
I don't think you'll be able to get the raspy sound from a duel pipe setup.. from what I've seen its the race systems that get this and they are all single pipe
  12. #12
ah ok cheers kam not sure what to do now.

if u really want duel get two ashley back boxed or any sports pipe u want and get a pro to make them into a duel pipe....

u can have any exhaust sound changed by a professional, as long as they are willing to do it, its much easier with custom manifold as they are more willing to cut and change it, but baffles are easy as a basic point but any more than that it varies, we had an ac cobra and we could add and remove baffles ourselves ended out running her straight thru was soooooo nice 427 v8 hehe

but have a talk to custom exhaust companies its not too hard justm eans they gotta chop ur back box to fit them... usually at least...

Getting the right (personal) note of an exhaust system can be a hard thing, what one person likes loud and deep another person would rather have raspy and less more tingy.

The only way to really open up the exhaust note is to go straight through in the centre section and then go for a/or more back boxes that have a very open straight through design. Universal Jap style can/s.

Custom straight through, open bored exhausts aren't to every ones tastes and wont gain you anything in terms of performance but might give you the exhaust note your after

Well piper look and sound immense, with the added bonus of performance, so what more could you want?

record the sound of a supersprint exhaust..... burn it to cd, get huge speakers play the cd as you drive round with your current exhaust and an empty baked bean can the other side giving the twin look.....

I love that sound! Nice and raspy ftw!

Not sure if you can get VTR's to make this noise though...?
  23. #23
yea thats the kind of sound jeeves and samvts if u aint got nothink usfully to say dont say it.
  24. #24
not really raspy, but defo deep.

if you want raspy you should hear my new supersprint race system.

anyway, the above set-up is a raceland 4-2-1, cybox centre section and de-cat, mid box made by infinity exhausts and an Apexi N1 back box.
