Thinking about supercharging my VTS as dont want too spend thousands..

Which supercharger & how many notes?
  2. #2
thousands althought you could buy a ebay supercharger for £70

Trick noob into buying one to see if it works ftw
  3. #3
    leaf blower + nos ftw
  4. #4
Theyre shite arent they, ebay electric superchargers!?

Need some good imput on chips, power and price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. #5
Yes they're shit electric ones lol.

Dont be tight on the n00b lol
  6. #6
chips? why do you want them?

    Contact gmc, 5k minimum
  7. #7
What do you recommend then, if not chipping it?
  8. #8
A "proper" supercharger I imagine will need some sort of uprated engine management.
Something like KMS, Omex, Emerald. They all cost around £500 or more I beleive.
That doesnt inc rolling road costs, fitting, plus the Supercharger and parts
plus the fitting for all that.

To do it proper.. Will cost Im afraid.
Not point doing it on the cheap as the car wont last, unless you know what
    your doing.
  9. #9
    Bike carbs FTW!

will sadly cost thousands to charge one mate
  10. #10
Charging is expensive.. unless you can get the bits second hand and fit yourself.

but even then it still aint cheap.

I was quoted just over £5k for a turbo kit fully fitted.

Thinking about supercharging my VTS as dont want too spend thousands..

    that doesnt happen.

thats a proffesional installation by GMC MOTORSPORT and it will put 185bhp at ur wheels. so im afraid m8 unless you want to spend upto 6k then you wont get a reliable install. plus you cant just uprate your engine, you got your brakes and suspension to think of as well as engine mounts, clutch and gearbox. im waitin on my car havin some nice new paintwork b4 she goes of to cars-worx for a turbo converion.

if u want turbo or supercharging and reliability to go with it you gotta have a big budget mate.

    hope this helps, feedback welcome

Go to gmc for your turbo conversion!!!!!!!
  14. #14
i would have considered it mate but as far as i am aware due to reading in various other posts, they don't have a setup yet and the guy enquiring about one they responded "we can but we would need your car for X amount of time to work out a reliable setup etc"

however i may enquire myself and post their response!
  15. #15
whats wrog with that? good things come to those who wait
  16. #16
indeed but as iv'e never heard a bad word about carwrox they seem appealing and they have more experience in turbo'ing saxos where are GMC seem more supercharger orientated.

they dont even have a turbo section on their site or offer it.
  17. #17
that site is years out of date though.
GMC have years and years more knowledge than carworx.
i have heard a few badwords about them.

    GMC anyday......................
  18. #18
cheers for the advice m8 i'll give em a ring on their high price number lol see what they have to say.
  19. #19
    GMC GMC...

ha that's the ONLY place i'll go for any work/mapping just purely down to the quality of work, and the fact ive never heard a bad word about them.

and its like a 500+mile round trip for me.
  20. #20

  23. #23
ad love to try but im not handy with that level of modification, ok ppl sayin its easy etc but id rather have it done by the pro's an anything probs tht arise they can sort for me.
  24. #24

not much, good induction kit piped to the front with chrome piping an a samco bend to tb, not sure of brand but it seems good, de-cat and stainless system from cat to exit.

thats it for now, its quick low mileage and been very well looked after!

personally i think the cost of supercharging is way way too much... better off saving the 5k and upgrading to a better car
