Bye Bye Head Gasket

  1. #1
ok i have jus found out that my head gasket has blown by the looks of things due to my overheating problem, how long will it take to change on a 1.4 furio and also how much would it b for the gasket, and the last thing is i need my car for college so should i only use it when i have to

I paid around £100, for a headgasket, headbolts, exhaust and inlet manifolds/seals. cambelt, waterpump and idler pulley iirc for my westcoast 1.4.

Should be able to get it off and replace the bits in a day. Depends if you'll need the head skimmed though !

mate, you shouldnt use your car at all if teh HG has gone.
  4. #4
If the head gasket has gone, your car wont go far at all. Dont use it til its fixed.

iirc took me and my dad 8 hours to change my HG and rocker gasket
