am i right in thinking the rear speakers are 10cm ?

i'm just trying to find good speakers - gonna get components for the front (although i'm gonna need to spend some wonga to get a decent set! )
  2. #2
hmm i got a set in the rear panels they are pretty decent running off the head unit

sony ones i think, tbh i was told not to really bother with em cos they dun make that much difference if your getting a big system

    like 6x9's and component's

i got infinty components cost me £120 they sound awsome though
  3. #3
no need for rear speakers, spend the money buying front components and an amp to run them
  4. #4
    Fuck !

scott didn't mention 6 x 9's. he must be ill....
  5. #5
    hahahahahahah

yeh like i said dun worry bout the back ones they dun make no diff tbh
  6. #6
nice one guys - i'm gonna spend tomorrow afternoon looking for components, and now amps.
  7. #7
i put in rear speakers and they do make a difference! you can notice when they are turned off the sound difference
  8. #8
They will obviously make a difference...think the point is they aint worth the money.

Ull be more impressed wit decent front components n an amp to run them than wasting it on rear speakers.

NO 6x9's...im sure Scott was thinkin it!

im going to go against what people are saying!

i have an amp running the front set and it is loud!

now a 2nd amp is running the rear and they do not crackle before the front set do! both amps are on the same gain, equally balanced in the car and they are fine!

you need a good set of rear speakers and they are loud!
  10. #10
lol if you want to do it mate then you go ahead, ill stick to my sound stage
  11. #11
    wat ya mean scott? lol
  12. #12
rear speakers messing up the sound stage and dragging it behind you
  13. #13
ah rite i get ya now! i just like a bit of sound to add a bit of depth from behind..personal taste i suppose
  14. #14
If ur want it just for the loudness why dunt u just make a new door pod n put both sets in the front doors?

That way its not wasted in the rear...seriously no point avin speakers in the rear!

Just my opinion mind but 2 sets of components in the front n u wunt give 2 shits bout wots goin on behind you coz it'll be loud enough and in ya face.
  15. #15
    Re sound stage.

If the rear speakers are set to the same gain as the front, will the fact the your sitting closer to the front speakers not mean the stage is still set infront of you, but with some rear fill?
  16. #16
smithy: exactly what im saying...the fron speakers are bigger and therefore are capable of alot more! the sound stage will still be in the front of the car but the rear speakers will be able to add the backdrop of sound to the car!!

and some songs have the recording done in such a way that it plays background noises and the rear speakers will do that just fine
  17. #17
of course it will still drag the soundstage backwards regardless of how powerful the fronts are, if you can hear the rear speakers then the soundstage has been moved backwards. I still live by the saying "when do you go to a concert and face away from the stage to listen to the music"

seems like i started a nice discussion here !!

i've ordered my HU and some component speakers for the front (Infinty 5000cs). HU was meant to turn up today but my dad went out and missed the delivery !!! RAAA !!!

should be re-delivered tomorrow with the speakers & dynamat. will be fitting them on saturday/sunday.

get paid on 25th so will probably get an amp then otherwise i won't be getting everything out of the speakers.

cheers for the opinions tho guys

ye but at a concert the sound echos around you...in a car it would echo from side to side and not around you properly....hence the rear speakers!

at a concert the equalisers are set to be different and speakers are different...a car is slightly different.

nope a friad i dont agree

ok lets look at it another way, show me a proper ice car (not a silly demo one wiht 14 billions speakers) whether it be an SPL car, and SQ car or a street bass car that still doesnt use the setup of front speakers no rear speakers and sub(s) in the rear
  21. #21
I aint got no speakers in the rear

Put them all in the doors instead!
  22. #22
exaclty...my rear speakers cant cope with the power that the front have obviously but the depth of sound when sitting in the front with a bit from the rear definately helps

down to personal taste i suppose
  23. #23
But does it help more than avin 2 sets in the front?

Ive been in cars with front n rear...also been in cars wit 2 sets in the front doors. i wud much rather both sets in the front!

Like u said mind, personal choice.
  24. #24
yeah i suppose at the end of the day it does boil down to personal choice so we'll agree to disagree, top chat guys
  25. #25
look, you can hear the difference, but it really doesnt matter because you can get enough power from front+sub, only if you often drive someone in the back, and you want them to listen to music, aswel. then its ok.

the car is not home so you can get a 5.1 surround sound, and each speaker to work for its own. when you'll be trying to get that, put in the rear speakers
