want a new exhaust

   hi all, i recently bought a black 2002 vtr and it came with a scorpion exhaust system but it is not very loud at all and was considering changing it and wanted some advise on which system sounds the best??? opinions would be a great help...cheers

   Keep your backbox and get a straight through supersprint section
   If your scorpion is twin box that is...
   
   As for ashley, im not really very impressed with the sound mine makes
   Its just not loud enough, and on tickeover it sounds horrible!

   o ryt..i have a 3 inch inward backbox not a twin...so would a supersprint straight through section make it sound nicer..also wher could i get it from?? thanks

   No no no! When i say "twin box", i mean it has a rear silencer and an intermediate silencer in the centre section.
   
   It will be this centre section silencer thats killing your noise, so go for a supersprint one ftw!

   the most cost effective way to increase the noise would be something like the straight through centre from Supersprint. There is no middle silencer so its loud.
   
   If you like your current backbox then don't replace yours. The supersprint one we sell is great but its not for style whores (unless you are a motorsport style whore)

    A magnex with a straight middle section would be a good choice imo.
    
    Have search for sound clips as there has been loads of threads on it before.

    Its not to loud but it still has a nice rumble to it.Im really happy with the sound of mine now but i have got a magnex's de-cat pipe and a raceland manifold fitted aswell.I can post a sound clip if you are intrested.

    I've got an ashley 4" backbox. I love it, it's got a loud deep rumble sound

    At present, I've got the single box system fitted with the STD manifold which has the CAT in. Just wanted an idea of the noise levels if I decide to swap the manifold for something less restrictive.

    It dose sound better in real life and its pretty raspy.When i fitted the manifold it made a big difference and got louder and more raspy.

    ive just fitted the same to my vts, just been looking at centre sections to increase the noise in mine although it sounds lovely idling

    For sound as i said, stick with SuperSprint or Piper as they are both very good
