#2I've got the same problem, seemingly common!! Gear linkages possibly, but I've had mine changed and it still has play in it, not as much but still bad!!!!

#4i would think its the gearlinkage. i got one from the scrappies for 25quid. solved ma problem

#5On the gearstick itself underneath the car you can see the end where it is connected to the linkage, there is a bolt through this check its fairly tight as this can cause alot of play! Dont do it to tight as it has to move abit!

#6mine is doing the same, sits in gear and moves an inch left and right, guna get it sorted soon as its doing my nut now

#7Hi mate, iv had this problem, its nothing to worry about. Its just a bit annoying. I have XSport Racing linkages and they were certainly an improvement, but I found that the main cause of this problem is the main linkage from the gearstick, the joint on these seems to wear quite a lot and this is where the side to side motion comes from. If you dont understand I should be working on my car tommorow so If you want to pm me your email I will take a photo and show you what I mean.

#8mine knocked from side to side and found out it was a bush missing in the gear linkage, which was lucky as i thought it was the gearbox, it was loads better when fixed. i am going to check that bolt from inside car as still a little play, so may need tightning abit. good info everyone

#9Mine does it too. Lots of gearstick wobble. If you get under the car and follow the rods from the gear stick to the engine, the linkage at the end there, is i think, whats wrong with mine. Might help. Here a Pic of the linkage...
