Is this induction kit any good?

Ive been looking around for the first induction kit for my Saxo VTR and came across this R-Power one for under £50:

I just wondered is any of you have experienced one similar and what kind of performance/noise it produces..

    Thanks in advance,

Personally wouldn't bother, you want an enclosed induction kit. ie the Raceland with green filter from Kam-Racing

    Welcome to the forum mate.

Well like Baz said, you probably want to stay away from open filters. You want
something more enclosed like a BMC CDA.

The standard airbox will most likely perform better than an open air filter.

Looks like a foam filter... I'd at the very least be looking at a quality cotton filter in any kit I chose

    ps welcome to the club

Yea, I was gonna go for a green cotton one but they're expensive and this one looked decent for £49. Beats the stock air filter.

also mate would you be up for coming 2 a meet in bournemouht next sunday ?

I think even the basic raceland would be better than that. Only costs something like £20 more and its an enclosed kit too.

Could upgrade at a later date to a green filter when funds allow

Why can't you edit a post on these forums?

How u know its an open air filter?

why are the enclosed systems better than the open filters?
  11. #11
because they isolate the induction from the hot enginebay

so cold air is better for fuel to air mixture, what advantage is cold air then??

So you would recommend this: http://www.kam-racing.com/product_in...roducts_id/695

How can I be sure it will fit? Tried to fit a green cotton one yesterday and there was a few loose pipes.

quite a few people have an racland enduction kit and seem very pleased with them once they have upgraded the filter inside the racland induction kit to a green cotton one mate. defently order from kam racing as they seen like a really helpful company.

engines work better with cold air as it is denser if you wanjt to know more about this pm me as this could turn into an essay lol!!

RJNoff recommended the Kam Racing filter (see link posted) would that fit a 2003 vtr do you know?

Additional to above: We were going to get a K&N but reading some of the posts on here you guys are saying the Green filter/ enclosed systems. What would be the best option?
