    Yo guys,

what do you think of this turbo conversion?

    EBay Item number: 300190011895

    Is it anyone on here?

    no but i want it

How anybody has placed a bid on it already with a description like that is beyond me!

All you can see is that there is a turbo (not sitting straight - and i'm lead to beleive this isn't good), a modified standard manifold (doesn't even say for which model, as they don't straight swap between VTS and VTR for example) and a very thin looking i/c.

And bare in mind that although it says 'turbo conversion' - judging by the pictures you'll still need a lot of boost pipe, a downpipe, injectors, some sort of management, and i'm guessing some way of getting oil to/from the turbo and some sort of boost control (or forged internals).

I think this is a good example of why folk think that boost can be done cheaply. (Not saying it can't - but a lot of the time required parts are forgotten about)

I'll second that.. could have been on something with 160k on the clock and had an absolute bollocking.. doesnt tell you what make or model either madness

looks like they welded the turbo directly to the manifold

lets just say I would be quite happy to wonder down my local scrap yard getting a IC, turbo, manifold and weld a adapter on the manifold to mount the turbo and sell the lot to anyone for £300. But I would be ripping you off if i was to call it a saxo turbo kit.

    £260 for the other bits???!?!?
  11. #11
You can just tell it's gonna be wank as soon as you see the words turbo and ebay in the title...
  12. #12
stay well clear read the sellers feedback !!!!!!!!
  13. #13
Yeah I would also give it a miss, doesnt even include all necessary parts, So u know it dont just stop at the £300.. And no proper turbo conversion is that cheap, even if half of it is missing..
  14. #14
I could probably get a decent downpipe and turbo manifold adapter done cheaply which works and hangs the turbo at the right angle.

In fact if anyone is interested let me know what spec your after as my mate who did my 1.1 turbo could probably make the bits up for you. Will not look pretty but will work perfectly fine
  15. #15
looks shite to me, crap welding, turbo isnt sat right. need loads of new parts!

would avoid that like the plague mate
  16. #16
    Shoddy conversion
  17. #17
what are you looking to put the turbo on?
  18. #18
the turbo's at an angle too and its shite
  19. #19
wouldnt touch that with a barge pole! save up some wedge and get a CItuning effort!
  20. #20
    ...or GMC, or Carworx.

But if you're looking at ebay tat then it may cost a tad more than you want to pay.
