#2Yes...
-
#3Might be a 1ltre tbh....
-
#4Still yes!
-
#5ah ok cool....i heard they have different gear linkages or sumit....
-
#6isit the same box, or will i have different gear ratios etc....
-
#7I'm about to put one in my Westcoast..
Will be a big improvement over the 1400 box..Will improve your performance and the ratio's are very similar to the VTS box..
The 1.1 box has a higher final drive which is a good thing if you want less top speed but better acceleration.. -
#8106GTI box FTW..
-
#9You have to put VT shafts on though which is more money etc..
There is a thread kicking about which shows the gear ratio's of each box, have a search and you will see that the 1.1 box is near enough the same as the VTS one.. -
#10will i have ot change drive shafts?
-
#12You wont have to change the shafts if you put a 1.1 box on..
If you put a 1.6 box on you will.. -
#13Thought the 1.1 boxs cant hack any power
-
#14lol
Same diff as is in all the other box's except the 1.6 ones so on a furio will be fine..
Soulless on here has a 1.1 box in his VTS and has had no probs..
Also they are a reasonably popular choice of gearbox believe it or not with the 1400 boys like myself.. -
#15thanks...repped...
-
#16having this fitted tommorow...just to clarify...a mk1 1.1 gear box will fix my mk2 furio 1.4? thanks
-
#17sure will
-
#18Defo..fitted mine the other day..Made a good positive difference..
3750rpm in 5th at 70mph..:d -
#20so let me get this right... If a 1.1 owner was to fit a 1400 gearbox they would notice a lack of power significantly? Or does it not work like that
just a fter a little knowledge
-
#21not sure tbh...it goes by the ratios of the box...theres a sticky about them on the forum....i know the 1.1 box has similar ratios to the VTS box...still waiting to have mine done today..he was meant to be hear at 9...its 20 to 12 now
-
#22when he gets there tell him he brought the wrong box and that in the time you've had to wait you fitted it yourselfQuote:not sure tbh...it goes by the ratios of the box...theres a sticky about them on the forum....i know the 1.1 box has similar ratios to the VTS box...still waiting to have mine done today..he was meant to be hear at 9...its 20 to 12 now
Just kidding hope it gets fitted alright.
-
#23haha sounds a plan lol!!
-
#24Got hold of him...will be here soon...doubt it will be finished today then =[....not sure how long it takes tbh...
-
#26got to take the box off a 1.1 im breaking first, then put it on my 1.4....so its 2 pull-offs and one put-on...3hours maybe?? and it takes citroen wr team 15mins =] but there setup is different...=]
-
#27hmmm taking the box off takes the least time it's just fitting it right.Quote:got to take the box off a 1.1 im breaking first, then put it on my 1.4....so its 2 pull-offs and one put-on...3hours maybe?? and it takes citroen wr team 15mins =] but there setup is different...=]
And citroen just attach it via string
they'e doing well this year. Was annoyed that the new scooby wasn't racing would of been interesting (they think it'll thrash the competition next year though)
-
#28yeh...they might do...sabastien loab is a true racer.... wouldnt stand a chance next to McRae rest his soal....
-
#29tell him to WD40 up the bellhousing mounts on the Furio before taking the 1.1 one off.. This will help speeds things up a bit.
-
#30Gearbox replacing is a 4h Book job for a mechanic on a Saxo so im told.
-
#31yes but thats ina garage where they take their time to crank the bill up...lol
-
#34you use an engine lift to hold gear box??
-
#35Took me and my old man about 3 hours..
-
#36the guys still hasnt come...im guessing it wont be done 2day then =[
