Cat/Manifold help!

  1. #1
I'm getting a cat-back full Powerflow S/S exhaust system fitted soon but have been told it'd be better to get it de-catted in due course, however de-catting it means it wouldn't go through an MOT I've been lead to believe? however I read up that you can change the manifold?... and now it's just getting confusing, my knowledge on cats/manifolds etc is well, non-existent so any help understanding the 2 would be much appreciated. Presuming I can't de-cat it but I can change the manifold, what are the benefits of doing that?

I have a 2001 Saxo VTR by the way.

I'd rather just buy an mk1 cat and ask powerflow to build this into the exhaust, but to make you a decat pipe so that when it comes to MOT time it's just a case of taking the decat pipe off and putting the cat in rather than putting a different exhaust on it.
