strut brace probs

  1. #1
there were some road works near me the other day with raised grids/manholes . (re-surfacing).

it was dark so didnt see a grid until last minute.

the lower strut brace is now touching my exhaust after hitting the grid.

is it fucked, or will it be ok if bent back?

It depends if its bent the bolts that hold it on as well mate. Best thing to do is get it raised up onto stands and have a good look underneath

bend it back mate, happens to mine all the time,

    or like i told snewham

where it sits below the manifold, flatten it like the upper strut brace, if you get me

lmao just looked at thread date and i already commented, wtf bump this?
  15. #15
because instead of starting a new thread and getting "do some research" i thought i should use the saxperience resources, use an old thread thus less work needed + equal amount of slateage lool
  16. #16
hes got a point tbh he would get told to search more than likly
  17. #17
tbh, if its bent and you bend it back, its weakening the brace and thus it wouldn't be working to the max....
  18. #18
yea, but by bending it, theoreticly, hes tightening it.....
  19. #19
mines got that many knocks in it looks like a crinkle cut chip lol, the hard part is re-fitting it when i take it becase its hard to get it lined up now

if its bent, and you bend it back, in the future even little bumps to it will rebend it,

its weakened, ive seen this many a time tbh get a new one for the sake of 30 quid.

one of the best mods to improve handling (lower over bottom tbh) both is just greedy

because you didnt need to bump it up tahts why.

You searched +1 rep for that.

Read the result of what to do.

Then bumped it up saying should i bend it = -1 rep

    lmao

and at first site i actually struggled to understand what you were saying tbh.
