raceland induction kit on a mk1 vtr

    hey, i am ordering my raceland induction tonight but need to know if i need anything else at the same time?

    also on teh raceland there is one samco and a pipe, the pipe has a feed for the breather from the cam (i believe oil breather) but where do they other hoses attach to on the kit? also is there an air sensor? if so where does this plug onto on the kit?

    rep given to anyone who can help or give me pics to guide me along.

    here is what you get in the raceland kit



    the black hose links the alloy pipe to the throttle body. The oil breather pipe attaches to the stub on the alloy pipe

    the alloy pipe passes through the enclosure and is padded out but the sticky tabs. The filter then goes on the end.

    the only problem is the mk1 vtr has the 8v engine which has 2 extra pipes attached to the original airbox, where do these go?

    2 extra pipes? I thought that there was only one .. which can just be tied off with another breather filter on the end.

    can you take a pic of the engine bay?

    hi pal i bought the same kit for my mk1 vtr 97 Also had the same problem and was clueless, but i gt sum advice of a mechanic and have now had my kit on for 6 months and it runs and sounds great.

    connect the larger pipe to the induction kit, put a breather on the pipe from the rocker cover and jus cable tie the smaller pipe off sumwer safe as its just a breather pipe. As for the sensor its just an air temperature sensor so just fit that to the engine bay sumwer safe aswel, i have a cover on mine so that it doesnt get wet or owt like that.

    it just tells the engine the temperature of the air going in so that it can adjust the fuel and ignition accordingly. As long as its in a safe dry place you will be ok .

    shudnt the edgine no wot the air temp going into the engine is tho? as if the air was cold, as it would be with the raceland kit the car wud fuel more thus increasing the the power......

    i would think it should have the air temp sensor attached otherwise it wouldnt run properly which is why i was asking what connections where on the raceland kit.

    think i will just make up a t-peice adapter to fit the kit to the car.
    even going by the picture i put up that sould do the trick.

    it doesnt need to be fitted into the induction kit . the air inside of the induction kit is the same temp as the air outside lol so it doesnt make any difference. ive had mine fiited for 6 month and it runs perfect!!

    Try it the other way around, works alot better! The breathers that go on the end of the rocker cover get blocked from some excess oil that always gets out over time so doesnt do its job right, by hooking it straight to your induction kit it filters properly. Just use a similar breather for the larger pipe but make sure its clean or it wont filter right or just leave it open but out the way so nothing can get in it!

    It doesnt work better that way at all lol, if you connect the pipe from ur rocker cover to the filter it will just run in to the pipe and fill ur induction kit with the excess oil!!! its better to just have an oil breather on it and clean it evry now and again As for the smaller pipe tie that off somewere shit wnt get in it .

    Na it wont go into ur induction kit, if anything abit will get into the tubing. Sounds like you didnt have the option to do it like iv mentiond but with the raceland kit you have.

    u dont want oil in the hose coz yes it will eventually just clog up the air filter thus your sxao will nt get enough air and wont run properly, wots wrong with just having an oil filter and cleaning it every now and again lol.

    Dont really wanna start a rant or argument just wanted to help out, iv run all my cars this way but my mates have run them the same way u have and found flat spots and as soon as they changed there setup found it to be better. Only opinions on that u probably dont have any flat spots at all. Just the way i would run a raceland kit and thats what hes just bought. I think KamRacing have explained it the same way as mine

    found flat spots lol, u are only fitting an induction kit they dont make much difference anyway, at the end of the day its just an open filter instead of it being enclosed when its standard,

    The oil breather on the rocker cover getting full of oil is enevitable, but its nt gna give u flat spots lol??? If he does it the way u say he will have to take the induction kit off when the hose gets full of oil, wer as if you get a breather u can just take that off and clean it. does that not make sense.

    But i guess im wrong coz kam racing does it like you lol. oj mate evry1 has ther own oppinion.
