VTS / GTI Diagnostic Port

   Hello All,
   
   I have a 1997 106 GTI and am looking for what diagnostic cable I need so I can plug my ecu into my laptop, and the software needed to diagnose any faulty sensors etc.
   
   Also where will I find the connection plug? Is it in the glovebox?

   under the glovebox theres a plastic cover, irc its in there
   
   and i wouldnt do a fault check myself, softwars isnt cheap or easy to 'find'
