Wilwood 285mm Group Buy - NOW CLOSED

  1. #1
Ive been speaking to scott at rally desin about doing a group buy on a wilwood 4 pot brake kit for the saxo and they have agreed to but need to know how many would be interested, we would get 20% off the list price

heres the link anyway, thats just for the kit, the brake lines and pads arent on there but will be included in a deal

    http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=3916

also dust caps are already on the calipers by the catalogue

Lets see how many people would be interested

And also what kit you want, solid disc or cross drilled (about 30 quid exta) and also we will have to choose which pads are going to be best, so i will appreciate if the people who already have wilwoods recommend what pads they are using
heres the link for pads anyway

    http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog...th=562_792_798

Cross drilled disc kit is £425
    Solid disc kit is £399
Brake hoses will be £39.95 (they have be made to order)

we cant really get a fixed price until we choose which pads and kit we get in the deal though

    thanks

will wait for numbers and see how many get in before I commit tho
  6. #6
yes mate then we get the brake pads and lines aswell so cheapest we could get it for is probablies 400 maybe under depending on our choices of kit and pads

Final prices are as above in the first post.
they are usualy about £550 if u buy them individually

Rally design customer service is also very good by the way.
  13. #13
yeah lets keep it going, as long as we get at least 5 people then were good for 20%

he may even get us more off if we get to ten

You'll want E, Q or D grade pads from them..

give them a call and see what they say fella.

Ill post this group buy up on AXOC =]

I wont have the money to spend untill payday end of feb at a minimum though so just to let you know =]
these are low priority compared to paint & making a loom at the moment
  15. #15
poly d pads were good in my experience
  16. #16
well he offered me them 5 in that link so we have poly A E and Q

E seems ok to me tbh, not sure what you guys want, we can always do a little poll for both pads and discs

think ill probablies go for them next month too although i could afford them now, lets see how things go
  17. #17
i had the EBCs in mine and they were shit imo, loads of fade.

just black available mate im afraid
  36. #36
Ironically, the saxo kit is £399 on the website, and the 106 kit is £425.. lol

    anyway,

List price for the kit is £399, pads are £49.50 (assuming people are getting the 'E' pads in this example!)

so thats £448.50 for a full kit (excluding hoses!)
so you'd be saving £89.7 on the list price excl. VAT.

So WITH VAT.. it comes to: £526.99 on the list price..

With the group buy it comes to: £421 + p&p which is £8

thats a saving of £105 on the list price incl. VAT!
  37. #37
    very good saving imo
  38. #38
il be leving this for about 2 -3 weeks then going ahead, should give people time to have a bit of money saved
  39. #39
    damn you ,
I just spent 650 notes on some guages today, skint now so dont order untill i have money or i'll kill your pet !

    lol
  40. #40
lol noooooooooooooo, 650 on gauges, they must be something special???
  41. #41
see my ax sport project thread,

just spa design gauges, tacho/speed/ gear number indicator, shift light etc

    lol

They best be bastardly gold plated for that!

Christ my Defi's are only 500!!!!
  43. #43

tacho is 380, temp/pressure gauge is 140, fuel is 114..
equivelent stack gauge (st700) is 600 notes on its own, and that requires additional loom to host the same features my 'multiple' guage setup has. Speedo & tacho combo's arent cheap
Was tampted by the full SPA Design digidash but that was 850 notes

    defi are ASW gauges lol

    anyhow back to topic

thats good news but how much does mine come to lol?!?!

£374 on the site no pads or lines. So add 39.95 for lines *seems alot as got front lines made by them last time for about 21* and 39.50 for pads??

so mine is about 383 ish after discount inc vat?
  48. #48
there all going to be 20% off mate
  49. #49
yeah i know that dude I was just wondering what the final price on my kit was since it was slightly cheaper to begin with but as long as it is end of feb I am pretty much in if anything changes I will let you know.

But if some can work out what the final price of my kit with discount is would be better so I can put some cash aside a bit earlier.

Very early march for me if we can please lads?

Muchos gracias just got a lot on this month to finish my car off for Donny
  80. #80
    later this month/early march
  81. #81
ill ask about being march lads
  82. #82
mint i am up for early march aswell
  83. #83
im in no rush but march would probably be ok.. I could really do with the saving anyway =]

might be worth noting that a better suited M/C may be worthwhile?

Predator: Make a thread on SSC brakes section about suitable M/C for these wilwoods. Only reason i ask is im lazy and cba to call rally design to ask the diameter of the pistons on these wilwood midlites.. and im using a pedalbox so you servo-assisted guys are cheating, meh
  84. #84
    just email them mate

and m/c, im getting to old for all these abbreviations lol ??????
  85. #85
    master cylinder

may need to upgrade im not sure but when I had my old willwood kit pedal was very long no braking power until you tamped on it, i think a bigger one would be best.

But iirc 16v standard is 19mm something? next one up is 23.6 or something
  86. #86
ahhhhhh right ill ask tomorrow mate, think it will be ok though rushy has wilwoods and dont think he has replaced master cylinder with a bigger one
  87. #87
the kits are designed to run wit hte standard master cylinder, so they should be ok

if we have about 3 people we can get the ball rolling on ordering them
  88. #88
i doubt they are designed especially for the saxo.

They'll just be a Midlite radial type caliper which would probably fit other cars too? (bracket/offset etc dependent)

its simple school physics , pascals law , when you push say 10kg on your brake pedal , it creates a certain pressure measured in pounds per square inch , if the diameter of the master cylinder is smaller , there is less sqaure inches , but you are still pushing 10kg , so there is more pressure

the same goes for the brake calipers , if you have more square inches , then the pressure has more surface area to act on , and so the pressure of punds per square inches , since there is more square inchers there will be more force

its to do with ratios , the normal VTS master cyliner is 22.2mm diameter, and normal VTS front calipers are 15cmsq , 266 calipers from a 405 are 23cm sq , which is 53% more piston area

so if you push the brake pedal with say 10kg of force , the 405 setup will have 53% more power , but due to the volume of fluid required to fill the pistons the pedal will end up moving 53% further towards the floor

    clicky

    Quote:

if you push say 15 pounds of weight onto a 3 sqaure inch piston , you create 5psi , if you use a smaller piston area of 1 inch , that same 15pound push will give you 15psi

so the smaller master cylinder you use the more pressure you can generate , and without a servo you'll need more pressure

    ------------------------------------------
    part 2

to get the pads from the rest position to hard against the disk requires a fixed volume of fluid , so if you are using a smaller master cylinder , you will have to push the pedal further to push that volume of fluid into the calipers

    ---------------------------------------------
    part 3
have you noticed new cars have like digital brakes , either on or off , its quite hard to apply gentle even pressure , well , by having a smaller master cylinder you will have more travel , and a longer linear travel , in which you should get more feel , thats why TVR can get away without ABS and traction control , the brake and throttle are very long travel , so you have much more control over what happens at the wheels

dont worry about specifically 405 brakes , i just used them as an example cos thats what i fitted , they are quite old now so you'd find better condition newer brakes , its was just the concept of bigger area of pistons

so just calculate the area of the master cylinder , and the area of the caliper piston(s) , and work out the ratio , and remember , you only calculate 1 side of the caliper , so if its 4 pots(2 pots per side) you only calculate the area of 2 pots for the total area , then do the ratio of mastercylinder : caliper

I need the diameter of the wilwood 4pot pistons so i can work out what Master cylinder would work out best for me.

ALSO > I'll require some new brake resevoirs and probably a wilwood rear bias valve from rally design too... Do you think they will take this into account when i order my kit ???
  89. #89
ill have ar word mate, i totally forgot to tell them about that

i meant that the kits are designed to work with the standard resevoir/master cylinder

No worries mate, il check on here aswell so alls good
  96. #96
ok mate, ive sent the email back to them with the list as soon as i read the reply ill send everyone the details by pm

not sure on when we will have them as they did say they have to make the lines, but thats cant take long lol, so maybe by weekend or next week, depending on when you order and when he receives the 4 he needs to start processing the orders
  97. #97
OK so im tempted to pay now like as from experience whoever doesnt have the money now wont have the money later and there will be no discounted group buy lol.

Ill be wanting to add 1 or 2 other bits and pieces to my order though..
How should i go about that?
brake fluid resevoirs, fuel swirl pot, fuel lines etc.

Pred > would be be worthwhile when mailing rally design to give them my name so i can pay direct to them along with my other bits and pieces or just make my own order for these?
  98. #98
defo later for me tbh latter I can pay the better as not starting work for 2 weeks

heok with this as long as he gets at least 4 orders then we get 20% off, ill just keep him informed on the rest who want to pay later

not sure about the rest of the stuff mate i only gt a group buy for lines, pads and the 285mm kit (well 205 too) so you could ask him, just mail him would be easier as you know what you want to ask etc

    which 1s you go for?

i would rep you mate for organising it all, but i must spread the love
  105. #105
i went for them too mate, but went for x-drilled discs, how much yours come to in the end with delivery???

tbh i can only try these pads, if there ok then its good if not then i can only say they didnt cost much so you win some you lose some, tbh anything is better than standard brakes lol
  106. #106
done my order as well lads ...he reckons i shud have it by friday so happy days £440 incVAT for plain discs, smart pads and lines so happy days
cheers pred for sorting this out for us much appreciated
btw where can i get a decent quickshift from? i drove my m8s vtr with a quickshift and its so much fun........
    J
  107. #107
not a problem just need one more now so scott can process the payment details and send the kits out

quickshift, its up to you, how much you wanna spend, ive just fitted my GE one and im really happy with it and all for about 25 pound delivered, i put a video of it in use in my progress thread
  108. #108
Do you think scott will mind if i call them on friday [as im at work during working hours etc] and still take advantage of the group buy? =]

£440 sounds more than i worked it out at lol.
I worked mine out with 'E' grade pads, and X-Drilled discs but without the lines and it worked out at 425 (vat inclusive) lol. :/

might have to brake it all down before i call so i dont get bummed over the phone lol. :|

and belly > the raceland shuoldnt never get that hot.. thin walls / poor queality stainless or not lol. It looks as if its running lean. Replace your lamba frommy experience for first point of call, check your timing etc. before you burn your valve seats out =D
  109. #109
of course n still order mae just need 4 people to actually get the 20% off then anyone can go for it thereafter, if you want ill send the details by pm now

the actual 20% is off each item individually and not all together by the way, still a hell of a lot less, i think ive saved about 80 pound so not bad
  110. #110
wether you take 20% off the total price, or each individual price, the saving is still the same

shoot the details over mate anyhow =]
  111. #111
lol is it now, ah well i suck

    ill pm ya now

ok little update we now need to decide which line we want

    straight out

    or 90 degree one

im not really sure but im thinking straight out will be better???
  121. #121
I'll be ordering mine with the 90s
  122. #122
we all need to make the same decision on these a think
  123. #123
come to thnk about it i think the 90 ones will be better
  124. #124
90s will be fine because at least they will be angles out of the way from hitting anything. Straight out ones are also pretty fine aswell had those on my last one without a problem
  125. #125
so any, i think we will go for the 90 ones then, just had a look and it will keep the hose out of the way better

hbe albe to get some kits out today
  126. #126
not sure if amy kits are out today but he did say I was the 5th or 6th person to ring up, he is happy with me paying on friday so we are all good to rock and roll
  127. #127
    good good

wonder who else has payed then, just need to keep things in proportion

    J
  131. #131
    90 degree is best..

    also ask for stainless
  132. #132
yeah ive said 90 degree after looking at the standards

    think there stainless braided hoses
  133. #133
do i need to ring him n tell him i want a 90 degree one then? im slightly lost sorry bloody woman in ur avatar steve
  134. #134
stainless braided hoses aye, which i already have on both my AX's..
however the ends do rust over time, unless you get fancy ones which IMHO are worth it ;P
  135. #135
so i do need 2 ring scott n tell him wat i want?
  136. #136
no mate, he is just going to do 90 degree ones for all of us
  137. #137
i wont be able to pay until march, had to fork out for college shizz.

is this guna hold people up?

  139. #139
    cheers pred.

not a problem i just need people to cross there name off when they have spoke to scott and ordered them, this way i can keep the people that havent got theres informed
  141. #141
I just flicked through this, and I'm currently looking to buy a new break set as mine are worn. Do these come with Calipers? If so would it be possible to spray?

What package is everyone getting? What's included in the package? Final price?

    Thanks

have a look at the link in the first post mate

the kit comes with just discs and calipers (x-drilled or plain discs, x drilled is a bit more expensive

    http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=3916

then you choose your pads out of these five

    http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog...th=562_792_798

and then obviously you get the lines (about 15 quid each, you need two lol)

ive ordered the cross drilled with smart pads as they saidtehre wasnt muc difference and there pretty decent pad and are recommended by wilwood themselves

i got mine for about 420 delivered

    basically take 20% off
  143. #143
Rawlinz - really wouldnt bother painting them.. anybody that knows anything about cars will spot they are 4pots and they say WILWOOD on the side.. huge stoppers under 15's.. also have alot more clearence than the brembo 4pots off the 406 coupe ! much lighter also i believe..

If you spray them IMHO it'll not look half as good
  144. #144
yeah they only come in one colour for 4 pots and thats matt black

6 pots come in red or matt black

just leave them as they are, there perfect, there soooo gonna match my wheels perfectly

Fo those who have ordered he will probablies post them first thing in the morning
  145. #145
nice just in time for the tracks ............
i am actually quite worried about these...are these gonna be difficult to get used to as in i might use the car everyday are they ok for everyday use? lol
  146. #146
im happy with either tbh scotty knows what i want anyway
  147. #147
Jam don't worry mate every day use without a problem I used to all the time!
  148. #148
yeah there for everyday use and light track use mate, should be ok, i said most of us only do a few a year, think it will be just the dust seals that bugger if there used on the track all the time

from now on if you have any questions ill forward them to scott so you can get a good answer, he has told me to do this so fire away

also he wants before and after pictures and reviews of the brakes when there on, its the least we can do, hes a quality bloke

And best till last 4 kits were sent out today via city link and should be here by tomorrow
  149. #149
lol im like an ikkle kid waiting for these brakes.........soo looking forward to banging these on there is nothing worse than shitty brakes
  150. #150
If scotty's looking for a before/after etc review of the brakes i'll hook him up in a few months time hopefully in time for summer.. these 4pots will be used on my AX SPORT track car project so should be ideal since raldes are kind of speicif to track & race cars.. in my opinion anyway.
ie > no daft neons etc
  151. #151
yeah by all means, that will be great

have you ordered yours today chris????????

tell scott about that mate, you need to phone about the calipers anyway so tell him

i mean they would of been insured so you wouldnt of lost all your money, scott would of sent aher kit out im very sure of

hey. Advice please, is it worth paying extra for grooved discs all round on my VTS or is there not a major difference?

Advice please. Is it worth paying the extra for grooved discs alround on my VTS or is there no MAJOR difference?
  164. #164
And i still dont know how this forum works.
    Advice for above breaks question.
    thanks
  165. #165
hey m8 the grooved discs are a controversal arguement, i asked scotty ans he rekons theres virtually no difference. ive read up on net bout this before and some experts say it does provide cooling but due to less surface area for the pad to bite u loose a minimal amount of performace....unoticable imo.

If im gonna be honest if u want grooved discs ur jus paying extra for pretty looking discs, ive gone plain cuz they will do jus the sane job....my thoughts hope tht helps m8
  166. #166
    as above..

no point getting grooved discs for the rear at all..
tlthuogh tbh i'd get grooved up front.. drilled is a bit shitty really btu grooved is definatley funky.. unfortuantley wilwood only do the drilled AND grooved discs =[
  167. #167
yep same i upgraded mine to standard disk size mintex grooved discs n didnt feel a thing if nethin it was a bit more fady than plain ones
on another note can sum1 give me quick instructions to fit these wilwoods as im gonna fit mine tomorrow hopefyully wit sum pics 4 u all lol

  194. #194
i know wat u mean i am dying to fit mine but no time n not sure how to bleed lol we'll soon find out neway
  195. #195
Bleeding isnt hard matey just a pain in the arse, and with these you have to bleed each piston so will take 4 times as long lol
  196. #196
as long as tou have a helper presing the pedal it will make things easier
  197. #197
i assume there is a specific order in which the pistons need bleeding etc?
shouldnt be a problem lke will jsut call rally design again lol.

getting finger out of my arse tomorrow and ordering these fuckers before its too late!!
was supposed to do it last friday but was busy working on the vts literally all day, then was at work sat... will have to call them on my break tomorrow, want them ideally before the end of the week =]

shall be ordering my uber gauges too, cant wait to get my hands on them
  198. #198
Ok just got off the phone to scott..
Got my name down on a list but will be calling on friday to place my order as have a whole load of other bits i need too =]
  199. #199
is he giving you discount on the other stuff or just the brake kit, pads and lines???

and did you ask if there is any specific order to bleed them
  200. #200
pred these brakes will be wasted on you, my bad its all for show
  201. #201
no no no, just you wait my friend, i have big plans ya cleaning whore
  202. #202
i know your plans i mean you cant drive x
  203. #203
    shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i can drive
  204. #204
ran out of time on my break after i had to wait for them to answer phone then get scott to ask him about the pads etc etc, i'll interrogate him on friday though lol =]

he probably wont be doing me a discount on the other bits... But i'll save on another lot of postage nevertheless.. =]
He might even give me further discount on the brakes! haha fingers crossed eh

The order so far for the weekend:

Plus the 4pots ontop of that mind, but ill need to order them with scott over the phone..
Nevertheless, i still need wheels, tyres, brake lines, fuel lines, fasteners, fusebox, fuses, paintjob, windscreen, welding work, fuel pump, rear bumper, footrests, carbon doorcards, panels for dash, dash flocking, new bonnet & that spraying.. a whole host of other things ontop of that too lol..

Nobody in this thread moan about money issues and say they cant afford a couple of quid for these stoppers.. Hopefully they should be EPIC! (compared to 266mm setup anyhow haha!)
  205. #205
lol bit of a list for you then, i got sum vts wheels if ur interested lookin at ur parts thats one 1 of he things u need
has ne1 fitted these 4pots yet?
  206. #206
not fitted mine yet, only trial fitted, i need tyres for me new alloys first, bloody hell i cant wait to fit them though

that list looks interesting, you dont want much lol
  207. #207
i should be fitting mine sometime next week with anychance mind you need to find out why the fuck it is blowin smoke after it has just been rebuilt
  208. #208
hey up ppl, unexpectadly got called into work, washing car tomorro so wil sort pix out for y'all :d
  209. #209
Nah am sorted with wheels, i dont think these wilwoods will fit under VTS rims tbh.. Im after a set of black pro race 1.2's for the sport.
Know exactly what i want its just having the time to do it and affording bits haha.
  210. #210
they do fit under vts rims

rushy had them on before anyway pro race 1.2s are better, got mine from here, thats without tyres (works out cheaper for me to get tyres and rims seperate)

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/15-TEAM-DYNAMI...742.m153.l1262
  211. #211
they got back to me with a quote with R888's and Proxies along with the pro race 1.2's ...

    Quote:
hi chris, package price as follows with tyre options requestedset of 4)
    195/45vr15 toyo t1r £530.00
    195/50vr15 toyo r888 £615.00.
delivery charge will be £29.95 to u.k mainland.

Not sure if thats cheap or whatever but r888's are expensive as fuck by soudns of it
  212. #212
how greedy of me is it now that I have the willwoods and a set of custom hispecs lol
  213. #213
you could put the wilwoods on the back gav.. LOL
  214. #214
yeah whack em on the rears

by the looks of the deal with toyos then it works out cheaper to buy the tyres seperate, will save you about 14 quid or summit, tyres from camskill
  215. #215
what about additional postage, fitting, balancing ?
  216. #216
if u wantd tyres i can get them dead cheap.......jus bought 2 goodyear eagle f1s for 65incvat

ahhhh well i get that done for free lol

additional postage for tyres from that camskill is free delivery, so from ebay for you it would work out cheaper
  218. #218
    Jam..
    price me up 4x toyo proxies T1-R / S
  219. #219
well lukin at the car tyrestores (ppl who we order tyres from) the only toyo they have got is 195/50VR15 TOYO T1R 82V, not sure if you want that profile of tyre but they are at 32incVAT each. the one i got is the standard profile of goodyear 195/45/15 plus ive driven on both sets and the goodyears have soooooooo much more grip in them its ridiculous
  220. #220
i wouldnt mind a set of goodyear GSD3 eagle F1's like..

what can you do a set of 4 for ?
  221. #221
well looking on ebay and mytyres average costs are £52-£55
the goodyears i got were slightly used so i got them dirt cheap
for a set of 4 brand new goodyears f1 GSD3 i can get them for you at £49 incVAT each so on a set of 4 savings of £12. but then postage will be that much so best jus to buy from mytyres as they have them for £52 with postage and packaging. up to u really
  222. #222
fitted mine today, ignore the dirty car and wheels

  223. #223
Belly VTS - looks good mate...but do clean it ASAP to make it look even better
  224. #224
Belly did you cable tie the hoses to the strut? Mine stick out a lot more than that, the wheel clears them but just worried about them possibly catching in future
  225. #225
    luks brilliant porno man lol
how did u bleed the brakes im having trouble wit mine

i wouldnt be doing that mate just play around with the hose so it goes out right

give us a review on the brakes belly_vts

as for bleeding you have to do each nipple individually on the caliper as one is for 2 pistons and the other nippple for the other two pistons
  227. #227
been away alot recently guys so heres the pix i took of my stoppers fitted :d

we cable tied them at 1st but then realised is would be a bad idea lol, so we just twisted the elbow until it cleared the wheel. its still close to the wheel like, so ill have to keep checking it.

i havent give the pads a good run in yet, hopefully tomorrow.
  229. #229
my pads are nearly worn in properly and they have a really nice feel they bite but jam down to hard and they really bite!!
  230. #230
good stuff lads, pleased to see everyone is getting them fitted, apart from me, i need tyres, but just spent money on a wii, ah well should be a another few weeks down the line and ill have some
  231. #231
just a quick update on bleeding the system, i receied this from scott so please read before fitting if you havent already lol

The 4-pot calipers have 4x bleed nipples because they are not left or right handed. They have nipples top and bottom so that they can be used on either side of the car.
For bleeding you should only bleed the top two nipples (no air will ever come from the bottom)!
We suggest that the inner nipple is bled first and then the outer.
  232. #232
Spoken to scott at rally design.. good chap, very helpfull.

Above comments regarding bleeding are definatley correct. just the top two bleed nipples need doing as there will never be any air 'locked' in between the two bottom bleed nipples. Start engine side first though =]

Should helpfully get my goodies tomorrow !

Need to figure out whats what with the brake lines as after speaking to scott it seems that the wilwoods use a totally different size fitment/thread than the usual saxo stuff.. but since my sport already has braided lines throughout and im not sure what size they are its a bit pick n' mix really lol.. will do the measuring this weekend and get something sorted out =]

will post pics up tomorrow probably =]
  233. #233
    good stuff
  234. #234
Closing date for this group buy will be the end of march
  235. #235
pictures of mine fitted, although mine didnt fit 100 % under vts wheels, how did you guys attach the carrier maybe some pics?
i had to use extra washers in bolt to carrier, but even so the wheel is literally 1mm from the caliper, anyone else had this problem?
also how on earth did you get the brake lines out of the way lol

  236. #236
    are these still availabe pred?
i saw your set up with the drilled and grooved discs, which i like, what pads did you get?
are the lines and pads included in the price?
how much was the overall price for your setup mate?
    cheers
  237. #237
yeah till the end of march mate

basically the price ranges with what setup you get, i got the cross drilled smart pads and lines, whatever you get you will get 20% off

scott at rally design said the smart pads are recommended by wilwood themselves and ou cant gor wrong for the price, its what most of us got

if your interested ill pm you the details, so just pm me or post if your interested

were exactly did you put the washers mate???, could always get some 5mm spacers

with the lines you can adjust them on the caliper side so just play about until your happy with it
  238. #238
See my project post for pics =]
Excellent service from rally design, if any of you guys are hesitant , scott is top draw! Get them while you still can

Gav let me know if they dont fit behind your 14's as per previous convo

    do it josh, get them
they literally make you think WOAH!!!!!
  244. #244
well good news is they fit behind 14 without a problem BUT they don't fit the 106/saxo strut as the disc height is to big as per pics, so it doesn't sit on the hub and it hits the wishbone.

middle of the disc needs to be not as big and the top mount hole on the caliper bracket hits the strut so strut needs to be ground back a smidge (like the gti-6 setups do) but would probably fit with normal 266mm disc??

Was a gamble on my part but I am not overly fussed as they can be punted on easily, would not take alot of work to fit on a saxo or 106 tbh
  245. #245
updateage : went out and got myself some normal 206 266mm 22mm wide vented disc with the more normal centre height

So will probably fit now with the new discs but it does mean grinding the strut a bit still and doing some jiggery pokery lol comparisson to my hispecs

  246. #246
good you got it sorted mate go and try them on again
  247. #247
in theory I have steve lol, from my findings the willwoods will fit but you need to grind the strut or take the mounting bracket back a little bit on the top caliper bolt area so it fits flush. Then there is the issue of the disc need to try the 266mm disc see if that goes ok should be fine, from measuring it up it wont take much to sort out.

Will see what I end up doing lol because as you can see the hispecs look a bit sexy lol
  248. #248
just do some engineering and grinding and get the wilwoods on
  249. #249
I like the way you call it engineering lol
  250. #250
lol well it is in a different style
  251. #251
  252. #252
just ordered my 4 pots from Scott at rallye design.
£471.18, i feel sick lol, a lot of money and i dont even have the car yet lol.
Suppose it'll be worth it once fitted, cudnt miss out on the group buy.
    Cant wait to get them.
  253. #253

  256. #256

  258. #258

  259. #259
    wheres my post gone?

BRAKES should look good once fitted....
  260. #260
hi predator, can you pm me? I can understand pretty good what size it is, if 266 or 284/285...or can we choose? you sells only the calipers? have they have too pistons? breke disks are included only brake pads aren´t right?
    sorry for my ugly english
  261. #261
sorry but pads, which one should I pick? the ones for 406 v6?206rc?
  262. #262
ok once you have choose your kit, which will be either drilled discs or plain discs then decide on the pads from these 5

    http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog...th=562_792_798

basically everyone has choose the smart pads, scott recommended them and said there also recommended by wilwood themselves

i also would need to contact scott to see if he would post to you and also the cost, do you want me to do this now??
  263. #263
They fit without and adaptation bracket, right?
  264. #264
sorry I just saw the answer...but do we have time also after the 31 of march?
sorry for the many questions! thnx
  265. #265
yeah they come with all the bits you need to fit them, all you need to do is bleed the brakes and its also best to use 5.1 brake fluid

31s of march is the closing date
  266. #266
Closing date for this group or forever?
  267. #267
this group buy mate, im sure someone would be able to do another group buy though
  268. #268
scott still hasnt replyred im afraid, im not sure where he is, hasnt replyed to the last few ive sent for some reason
  269. #269
still no reply from him, he must be off work or something
  270. #270
can this be removed or is it still needing sorting?
  271. #271
well scott at rally design said it can still run for a bit over the cut off date so ill leave it a few more weeks
  272. #272
stil open if any late comers want in on this

    pm me for details
