Mirror Caps

Can anybody give me some info on how to change over the mirror caps.

I have done a search and worked out that there are some sort of pins that hold the existing ones onto the mirror base, is this correct? Is there glue holding them on aswell and would heating them up be best?

As for sticking on a new pair of mirror caps whats best to use? I have just got some carbon fibre ones and they have like some double sided foam sticky tape on the inside to attach them to the mirror base. Will this be strong enough to keep them stuck or is there a better adhesive?

The best way to remove the old caps is to heat them up and pull them off, as for the new ones the sticky pads are all the old ones are held on by but i would get some grip fill or something similar to keep them safe.

hi guys it is best to use a bead of panel adesive like tiger seal around the edge and the doulbe-sided tape should hold it on while it goes off usually overnight if the tape does't hold try tapeing it down withmasking tape or simular Mervyn Streamline Carbon
