My knocking/whining issue

   right, as per other thread, I'm getting a whirring in first, second and minimal in thirs. Nothing (that I can hear) in fourth and fifth.
   
   The car has had a recent 106gti box installed on it ad new clutch.
   But recently this noise has become more noticeable, and also so has the knocking noise.. usual pulling off and when turning one.
   
   Was wondering if the two may be related? Before I fork out on a new box, maybe it might be something slightly more simple?
   
   driveshafts? or something along those lines?

   do you know what the mileage was on the 106 box?

   Have you checked the oil in the gearbox it sounds like it is bearings to me

   I haven't checked fluid level there as yet ? As I assumed if it was fluids it would whine in every gear? am I right?
