Would it be possible to purchase a VTS engine and put it into a 1.1 forte? What work would be needed, what stuff? Thanks

#2yes been done a few times, read the FAQ or search

#3is it possible? yes.
should you do it? NO!!!!! -
#6thats what i ment. why upgrade a 1.1 to a vtr/s? the insurance will be the same, will probably cost you less in the long run to sell up and buy bigger.Quote:Assuming that the job is done properly and your brakes and suspension have been upgraded to cater for the higher spec engine there is no reason why it shouldnt be done.
Theres plenty of bits thatll need upgrading
yes plenty of people do change engines, mainly vtr-vts though. -
#7Mainly due to sentimental value and money that has already gone into the car, that's my reason for upgrading.

#8well thats fair enuf then, this time next year im hoping to convert to 16v myself, wouldnt sell up and buy a VTS though as i love the colour.
just thought the 1.1 to VTS was a bit extreme thats all.
just my opinion though and i know its been done before. -
#9bit of a daft opinion 2bh. ALOT of people have gone from 1.1 to a vts engine.
usually as they have it as the first car and know the shell, the fact its been maintained etc...
its worth more going from a 1.1 to a 16v than a vtr to a 16v..
for a start the VTR and VTS look exactly the same, some poeple prefer the 1.1 base looks and the stealthness.
your posts are amusing, you tell someone not to do it but ur planning an engine conversion yourself lol.
