Short Guide for Colour Coding.

  1. #1
    1. Remove the black band, It is secured with a plastic pop screw at each side, Pry them out with a srewdriver, then starting at one side, SLOWLY remove the clips one by one. Be careful not to snap any! (FOR VECTRA )

    2. Clean the band using a de-greaser agent. I used Brake cleaner fluid. Then sand it down with a rought grade and work your way down to a smooth grade. Wipe with a damp then dry cloth

3.Using a plastic filler primer (Flexible) Spray it evenly using short strokes

    4. After using the primer allow a few hours to dry then rub down with fine grade wet and dry paper.
Then do the whole process again. This will even out the imperfections.

    5. Using the correct colour. Spray using fine even strokes. Its better to put a small amount on first and build up layers.
Allow to dry then use wet and dry paper again to smooth it. This will give it a better finish.

    6. Allow 24 hours for the paint to settle. ( i left it about 14 then used a hairdryer on a low setting. Then apply a clear lacquer, Again, fine even strokes. Dont worry as the colour will look darker at this point.
    Allow several hours to dry

    7. Re-fit you bumper strip being careful not to damage your hard earned finish!

    8. Sit back and admire
