#2i dont think a phase 2 engine fits in a phase 1 body but i might be wrong
-
#3yeah they wont go in as a mk2 engine is different to the mk1! citroen have changed alot of things on them! me and a mate tried putting a mk1 vtr engine into a mk2 1.1 and there was no way it would go!
why do you want a mk2 vtr engine if you already have a vtr????? -
#4engine is knackered this one has only done 11000 miles its a beaut
-
#5engine should go in just fine if you got the complete engine ecu and loom
-
#6unfortunately u will have to buy another mk1 engine! with the mk2's some of the connecters are different, the ecu plugs are different and as u said the manifold has the cat in it!
theres a few mk1 engines on ebay matey!
-
#7mk2 engine will go in.
-
#8maybe it was just on the 1.1 we tried it with. wouldnt you have to change alot of things though? such as some connecters and plugs?
-
#9i have all the loom and ecu but the garage doesent think it will go
-
#10the garage said that the engine was different and that they could modify the manifold but the head is different and it definatley wont go in..im at the end of me teaher honest
-
#11did they mention anything about the connecters n plugs etc?? what did they say was different? i no we had trouble with the alternator as the holes didnt match on the bracket to the engine!
but again we were doin it on a mk2 1.1. -
#12the head is different, so what if your putting the whole engine in it will go it has been done before
-
#13basically thats what he said but i think he's just given up with it...but its defo been done before has it?
-
#14i didnt think it could be done!
another thing ive learnt from you scott.
anthusher3- id listen to scott hes the man when it comes to info!!
-
#15some wiring has to be done but any mechanic worth there salt can do it, and yes it has been done before, one i cna think of off the top of my head was Keir on ssc, his was origionally a mk1 vtr converted to a mk2 vts, making it even harder and it was done
-
#16it has been done before, saw a saxo at a show which had it done.
