wheel bearing

my left front wheel bearing is fckd causing the wheel to wobble, its down the garage being fixed tomorrow and pick up tomorrow morning for a total cost of £50...

WHAT would have broken it as me and my father are in a dispute over who is paying for the repair i said it is him because he drives over speed bumps at a 'normal speed' which is abit rough, i have seen him drive over bumps

or speeding which was caused by me...

    any ideas/explaintons for this?

also £50 is a bit ova the top it cost me a £10 for 2 bearings and it only took 1 and a half hours and im no mechanic

but its £50 at a garrage which is not a bad price for parts and labour

50 quid sounds about right mate i paid 15.99 for a mrk 1 bearing on its own so if you add the labour do the math. mine f*cked up over small speed bumps so in my opinion your dad is the suspect!

mrk 2 bearings can cost just under 30 quid

I have been quoted £12.52 plus vat for a set of front wheel bearings and £25 to fit, the problem is dont know whether its the wheel bearing thats gone or the driveshaft as i'm getting squeak on the drivers side wheel and been told by 2 garages 1 said wheel bearing 1 said driveshaft? hmm

earning is less in NE thats probably why its a lot cheaper and you should try removing the mount first and have a look at the bearing yourself. if its intact then its the drive shaft.

same here... i drive very slow on bumps but rag it after whereas he just goes over it like a 4x4... if u have ever seen rush hour traffic going over speed bumps, thats what he does and hes accepted liability so its his fault end of

no-ones to blame mate, its just one of those things. id put it down to wear and tear. however if you "rag it" then i see no point in getting it done as your bound to crash into something trying to impress some girls by thinking you can drive fast

its not the bearing now... im starting to get suspicious of the garage so much has been fixed its unbelieveable the last few weeks and now the bearing but not the bearing itself the metal that holds it has been worn down and as a result the bearing is loose causing the wheel to be loose...
