Tightening the front seats

  1. #1
The drivers seat has come loose, and i cant seem to tighten, or undo the torx bolts for that matter, to fix this

whats going on with this then?

I noticed the whole runner next to the handbrake, that should be bolted firmly to floor is moving up and down, with the bolt, closest to the front of the car.

I just simply cannot get the bolts to turn either way

    Am I missing something?

    any help would be great

im my last saxo i changed the seats and they always had a bit of play which wasnt good, best way if you havnt tried is get a torx peice on a converter on a 3/16 rathcit if needed spray some wd-40 or similar leave 5 min and get some leverige on it,

but i found the 2 bolts one side tht hold the seat to the subframe where not in mine and it hadnt been taken off before so that might be the problem you have

Na, the bolts are deffo there, you can see the whole rail and bolt move when it rocks, and it should be solid against the floor.

Tried a torx bit but its not budging at all, either direction

right took the three bolts out that were solid and the loose one i left in, but undid it slightly (socket set and leverage!)

this is where the fault is as the part of the floor that the runner bolts into, has come away, no signs of rust or anything, just looks like the welds failed.

should this have happened on a 52 plate 40k car?

if your seat is moving when the bolts are tight then the cahnces are that the mountings have broken and will need re-welding

mine does the same, and it has come away from the floor plate, going to be aprox 100notes to weld back down!

    Not huge

Pretty easy tbh...just need a few hours free and some tools

Mine is almost 10 and never had any problems like that yet strangely
Good luck with it buddy, sure you can do it and fix the problem for less than half of that

Just charging you to strip everything out tbh...

DIY and get a mate or trusted local garage to quickly weld the plate on for you...Cheap, quick and easy just how you like 'em
Serious note - the above will be much better as your previous quote was a joke

Wicked stuff. Just effort innit really :-/ My old car didnt have a problem liek this either lol....seems really really common though. Spose it would be on a car made out of paper mache

does any1 have pics of the bracket that had to be welding in? is it a case of taking the carpet and seats out they just re-welding the mount on?

EDIT:Looks like its possibly being sorted under warranty now brill
