Door Pins

   Right Hi was searching about and saw that there was a coment about if you just snap the door pins off at the top of the door card this does not help with security was wondering if this was true as i could not get the whole pin out and thought this would solve the problem. Was a mistaken or does snaping it at the top help with security.

   iirc you have to remove the whole pin to improve security. I've had similar trouble with mine

   You have to get you to fingers on one hand and force the them in between the pin and the motor bracket then force your fingers apart under your own strength. Does fell like your fingers will pop but the the pin snaps out of its grooving in the bracket. Also helps to undo the lock on the face of the door it has three bolts undo them and you can pull the motor and housing forward giving you more room to move and see wat your doing

   Right thanks so i have achived nothing by just snaping them from the top.

   i took mine out yesterday found it very easy to to , follow the pin down to where its fits in the lock and pull it towards you . mine came out straight away

   its different for mk1 and mk2....i have a mk2...and found it very dificult to get them out....in the end...i snapped them off... i will do them properly when i know the correct way...
   
   i have put gromets over the holes....so it looks like i have de-pinned it

   did u get your grommits from halfords - ive been meaning to do this but cant find any that look similar to the holes.

   yes...i got them from halfords....they are circular....takes a little bit of effort to do them.....they will be getting replaced when i get an alarm fitted

    there round ones....just pop them up from the underneath of the door card through the hole...i think there 9mm blanking grommets

    cheers dude.. 9mm il write it down as this is sumink i have seen before and luks very gd so i really want to do it. although currently my central locking needs reprogramming and i have no exterior door locks so id be pretty screwed - at the moment im climbing into the boot to unlock my car via the pins

    i pushed my from the top.....theres only a slight raise....

    So does this mean if its snaped of at the top and you have the gromits in have i made it harder for the car to be broken into or is it still posible for this to be done of the pin inside the door card.

    it is still possible to break into the saxo....but with the grommets there...it looks like you have de-pinned the car....

    Exsactly Saxperience is the way forward. Al give it another go 3 weeks b4 am 17 so sumic to do init.

    Ad love to but a dont have a key fob and also am going for the cheap options at the minute till a have more money a might upgrade the alarm in the future and then delock the doors.
