#2well matey, u coud fit any saxo engine into it! and if you wanted alot of power then go for a vts conversion!
You should be able to pick up an engine from your local scrap yard or like on ebay etc! so it shouldnt be really hard to pick one up. just make sure it has everything when you buy one, such as the wiring loom, ecu, keys, ignition barrell, imobiliser (transponder) box (behind the glove compartment). -
#3i can get any engine but wot one would be best for easy of fitment and also 2 do some litle power mods 2 ie air filter

#4Insurance friendly - get a VTR (Black top)
If insurance not a problem get the 16v VTS lump
-
#5why a blacktop an not a silver top???
-
#6Cause its 8bhp more
-
#7no it doesnt. the black top had 90bhp and came without a knock sensor and different tappets etc... the early silvertop up to around v plate had 90bhp, the late silvertop with the cat in the manifold came with 98bhp.
-
#8i would say for for a silver top, anything after 2001, as u get a 98bhp version

#9kk thanks 4 the info peeps ill let u know how i get on

#10im lookin to have an engine transplant too, is there any difference between the mk1 and 2 vts engines? its just i know alot of newer engines are desinged to be more economic rather than more powerful.
Also how much do ya reckon itd cost to have the transplant done? -
#11how do u remove imobiliser black box does anyone no how because im having trouble with it
-
#12it will be best to put an engine in out of the same year as the wiring may be different as i found out when putting the 106 gti into the vtr,its not that hard to do though
