ICE trouble

  1. #1
i'm building my own install, i have the wood and everything in and tried the subs in but it sounds really bassy and not very punchy - it is not carpetted yet, would this affect it? also does the install area need to be a certain size for the subs to be effective?

the intstall is 1000w amp running two 800w subs, as i'm not too clued up on this side of things, can someone tell me if this amp is suitable and should it be pretty loud? cheers!

depend on size of box that the subs are in. dynamat it a bit, and carpet it. may be worth sticking some some wadding inside the boxes if you havent already.
How many channel amp is it? and are you running one sub of one channel?

box size is pretty much critical

2 channel, one sub per channel. got it all carpetted now, sounds ok, but i reckon a power cap may be required!

better battery and uprating under bonnet major earths and lives is whats needed

Power caps a waste of time mate, spend the money on good quality cabling

    battery is the first thing

but alot of the pure bass or the thump...comes from a well made box that is properly sealed and the right SIZE for the sub!
