    the black bumper bit on the side of my car has faded in color.. does anyone have any idea what the best thing to use to get it back to black? or wil i have to buy a new one? iv highlighted the bit im on about, u cant see it in the pictures but its very rough and faded.

    Theres a few things that ive heard about. You can get up the plastic with a heat gun, not to the point it melts obviously, but that brings the black back out. Iknow that works ive seen it done, theres another method which is pretty wierd.


    Smearing peant butter on them and leaving em for half and hour, then wiping off. Some people swear by it

    the stuff you buy tends to just shine it up and wear off though

    really? thats last idea seems like it will be alot cheaper so il try it first!
    very strange idea my neighbours are gonna think im abit weird!

    yeah i have the same problem on one side, im afraid to try that incase someone comes up the drive lol.


    heat guns are in Lidl at the moment though for like a fiver so im prob gonna get one

    i think il be too scared to use a heat gun incase i f up the paintwork or something. il try the 1st one and let u know lol

    ha yeah i had the same prob m8 i masked off the above an underneath the plastic put loads of layer of mask and then used a whole bottle of black to black and the colour sinks into the plastic if u use a whole tub... not a cheap one eather hope this helps m8

    I Have The Sam Problem, I Bought Some Back To Black Formula From Halfords, Gives It A Really Nice Shine, But Only For A Few Days.

    actually you cant really beat autoglym bumper care, lasts quite a long time

    Yeah I definately have to go with predator on this one, autoglym bumper care is the best out there from all I've ever tried.

    a cheap and easy way to bring up the black on your trims is to smear used engine oil on them, last for bloody ages, rain just runs straight off to.

    i use meguirs trim detailer on all the black trim on my sax, and it keeps it black for well over 3 - 4 weeks, altho i do leave it for 30mins and do it all agen
