centre console help

   Evening all, I have taken out my Centre console which I am planning to spray soon. I'm wondering if it is possible to take the centre air vents out of the frame and what I could use to mask off the bits I don't want sprayed. btw I have searched but cannot find what I'm looking for.
   
   Really grateful for any help & some rep is available

   My mate sprayed mine for me. I saw him do it and took out a little pin where the centre airevent attaches to the centre console

   as said theres a pin either side, just use some pliers to pull them out and it should come out, theres 2 spring type things there, so take note how they were before you take them off

   Thanks Will have a look in the morning. What sandpaper do I need and what can I use to mask off the parts I don't want sprayed

   what bits do you not want to spray exactly???
   
   and yeah use about a 600 or 800 grit paper

   not a problem mate, are you having trouble gtting the cig lighter out by any chance??

   I didn't want to spray near the heater, you know where you select where the air flow goes and the ashtray

   well just mask off the bits you dont want doing, but spend a bit of time doing it

    as long as you have patience and take your time you cant go wrong, just dont overload the bit your painting with the paint, build up the coats

    I did mine a couple of weeks ago just needs fiiting now. As pred said just build up with light coats of paint so you dont get runs in the paint.

    ye you can pretty much remove everthing that you dont want to spray, no need to mask anything up. cig lighter was the hardest thing i found to get off

    All i did with the cig lighter was remove the actual lighter bit and then tap the rest out with a hammer. Dont hit it to hard though.
