Was reading a thread about manifolds and wondered where the best place was to get them
Best place to get a raceland 4-1 manifold
-
#1
-
#2kamracing sell them cheap
-
#3Also note that racelend manifolds are 4-2-1
-
#4OK so what was this chap on about??? im confused now.lol
-
#5I havn't got a clue what he is on about, but GMC do a 4-1 manifold but that is made by piper. Raceland ONLY do a 4-2-1 manifold. As a general explanation a 4-1 gives more power higher up the rev range, but to get the best out of this you ideally need cams. A 4-2-1 manifold from raceland is cheaper and basically does the same job but gives slightly better low down power over the 4-1. Its up to you what you want to choose, personally I would just get the raceland, I had the piper from GMC but has issue's with them over fitting. So for the hassle I would just get a raceland

#6Apparently raceland amnifolds arnt that good, dont have one so wouldnt know, just what ive been told.
"The welds are poor on them and over time due to flexing under acceleration they crack, they have also been known to melt a hole in the water return pipe to the block resulting in blown headgaskets or worse." -
#7They aren't the best made, no, but you get what you pay for. In terms of performance, I don't think I've ever heard anyone complain that they've not noticed a difference. Most people who have one on here seem happy with theirs!Quote:

#8GMC dont stock raceland manifolds, they stock the Piper 4-1
The raceland 4-2-1 is a superb budget manifold, isnt made with the same quality as a piper/supersprint etc but can still hit the same targets as them.
Havent heard any complaints really, high performance on a budget, not to be missed imo -
#9only thing i dislike about the raceland is having to move the oil filter?
EDIT: dont have to on mk1 engines
-
#10Yeh think thats just some of the mk2 VTRs that need the relocation
