well just looking at mine its plastic the throttle body but ur surrounding looks alloy, which can be good.. will give a crisper throttle response and less prone to warping but, i may be wrong..

    I am a woman
What exactly does that mean then?
  11. #11
    2000 would be a 90bhp silvertop
Could be later 01+ 98bhp throttle body (can't see pics at work!)
  12. #12
i think that all the vtrs have 2 sensors, i might be wrong. im loookin at my old mark 1 throttle body and it has 2 sensors. Your throttle body looks abit different than mine. Maybe one of a lesser model???
  13. #13
just checked my saxo (2001) i think they look pretty much the same and the metal bit of the throttle body on mine is tiny comapred to that and is plastic... so i think u might have the wrong one.. ill try post a picture up of mine as best i can
  14. #14
i think you have bought a mk2 throttle body when you have a mk1 so take it back and ask for a mk1 vtr throttle body
  15. #15
it is a mark 2 ,it looks like some of the engine has been changed by the previous owner
  16. #16
you've got the mk1 throttle body or somthing cause my one (mk2) isnt that bit at all... and it looks like youve got a new manifold cover as well lol

    Thanks for that
Someone on here has told me that my car has got a MK1 engine in it
    I got ripped off
  19. #19
    Nope. 2000 has the 90 bhp silvertop - used in both mk1 & mk2.
Your car has the correct throttle body (now I can see pics!!!)
    is the later 01+ type.

  22. #22
Your engine & tb is the correct one for the year!

DaxVTR has the later (01+) engine which looks like this

People think (wrongly) that the change happened mk1 to mk2!

Yours is on the change over year (w reg year 2000 ) the cars a mk2 shell etc but they used up the 90hp silver top engines ( with the ali t/body) As peps have posted pics above the later mk2 have a full plastic body
Hope this sheds some light on things Aid

ahh, any1 ever tried putting the alloy throttle body on to a standard VTR? bet the throttle response would be alot crisper? or does it not fit
